I just witnessed a couple of Orthodox posters get kicked off a "Catholic Caucus" thread. I thought, despite their differences, they had a mutual understanding that each sect was considered "Catholic". Are not the Orthodox considered Catholic? Why do the Romanists get to monopolize the term "Catholic"?
I consider myself to be Catholic being a part of the universal church of Christ. Why should one sect be able to use a universal concept to identify themselves in a caucus thread while other Christian denominations need to use specific qualifiers to identify themselves in a caucus thread?
Arrogant self-righteous bureaucratic powermongering !!!!CONTROL!!!! phreaque magicsterical !!!!TRADITION!!!! bound elitism has always had piles of supporting law, !!!!TRADITION!!!! . . . from 2,000 years ago until now.
Some things never change.
Another false tradition of that sick man known as Jean Cauvin.
As Satan wills.
Did you read the document from the CONGREGATION FOR THE DOCTRINE OF THE FAITH at the link that I provided? Read the third and fourth questions particularly.
“I am afraid that I will deal with you as you deserve.”
Oh, dear me, what will you ever do to me?? Flog me?? Get a grip. This is an Internet forum. And it ain't your Internet forum. Unless you have the power to suspend or revoke my membership here, there is little you can do but show me the same contempt shown by the Orthodox on many occasions. I somehow survived that, I'll survive your mistreatment, too.
“Many Western Catholics post idiotic statements like this.”
You make assertions, but give no reason to support them. Are you saying that I haven't been here for a while? That I haven't been involved with and witnessed many exchanges between Orthodox and others? Are you saying that the Orthodox are free from churlishness in their posts? So, calling us a bunch of bishop-worshippers is... not churlish (as well as hilariously off the mark)?
You still haven't told me what was wrong with the first sentences of mine that you flagged. From post 2023. You know, the one where you said I wasn't close to the truth. The one where I said that reunion is a high (but I'm not sure the No. 1) priority of the pope, and that another reason for that was because Jesus prayed that we all be one.
What was wrong, precisely, with those sentences that you quoted?
You keep asserting stuff, but when challenged, I don't get much of an answer.
“If it wasn't for the Orthodox anchoring the Faith, who knows where it might have gone.”
I view statements like this as Catholic self-hatred.
The Catholic Church, as always, has plenty of stuff to work on.
But the Orthodox Churches are not Oz, not some wonderful spiritual, theological or moral wonderland.
Because I'm nowhere near as course in my postings as your posts have been, I will not lay out a small listing of the problems of the Orthodox Churches. That was never my intention, and it still isn't.
Even if I had misunderstood the teaching of the Catholic Church on this issue, that wouldn't constitute churlishness on my part, or any other evil thing, other than simple error. I've made plain my understanding of Church teaching. I've also admitted my limitations in the various posts with the other poster.
I've also made plain that my only real purpose in posting to this thread was to defend the idea that there can be Catholic/Orthodox threads AND Catholic Only threads AND Orthodox Only threads.
Your reaction is over the top.

I'm ONLY describing those organizations, structures and congregations
Affiliated with; submissive to; in communion with; the Vatican in Rome and to the Pope heading that edifice and collection of "Sees," congregations, orders, organizatioins, churches, hospitals, colleges, universities, embassies, etc. thereof.
Just them.
I think y'all's cliques see them quite often . . . in mirrors.
Your technicolor gibberish aside, you’re not describing the Catholic Church, thank God.
And neither was Dr. Eckleburg.
Again, as God wills.
At least you got technicolor gibberish to alert you to ignore the post. I'm jealous. LOL.

Imperious hubris !shalom b'SHEM Yah'shua HaMashiachSince Nicea.
Two thousand years ago?
It almost sounded for a second there like you might be describing the Catholic Church.
But, alas, none of the rest of that blast of explosive logorrhea describes the Catholic Church, thank God.
Quix can't be that old.
Fractious grammar, semi-literate vocabulary and spastic punctuation are also powerful clues that gibberish is afoot.
How do you get that?? God is not subject to any action of our will — nothing we do can affect HIM. Actions of our will affect US.

Ahhhhhhhhh Really?
I think you have a different Bible.
My Bible tells me that Moses changed God’s mind.
And
That Jesus was touched with the feelings of our infirmities.
There are other Scriptures indicating that the above assertion is plainly false and at best grossly oversimplified.
It is part of the magnamimous mystery of The God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob that HE INVITES US INTO HIS REALM . . . TO CARE FOR US AS CHILDREN, INDEED, AS FRIENDS, . . . AND TO BE RESPONSIVE TO EVEN OUR PRAYERS AND THE THOUGHTS AND INTENTS OF OUR HEARTS . . . EVEN TO THE POINT OF GIVING US the desires of our hearts when our soul is fixed on Him.
HIS RELATIONSHIP WITH US IS A DANCE.
One doesn’t dance with robots . . . except in a comedy show or a sci-fi horror film.
LOL!
LOL!
You've been shown numerous scripture that contradict the Romanist reinterpretation and you calmly claim it's self evident to all? LOL!
That knife slices both ways. Very definitely both ways.
* chuckle * Indeed. Those are the saving graces of his posts.
But the technicolor means I don’t have to read even the first word.
I think you pretty well cornered the market in that department years ago already.
In the Koran as in the Old Testament Ishmael is the first-born son of Abraham (Ibrahim in Arabic) his concubine Hagar, and as an appointed prophet and messenger ("Rasul") of God. It was Ishmael that God ordered sacrificed.
Ishmael, through his son Nebaioth (Nabit), is the ancestor of Adnani Arabs. His descendants include the Islamic prophet Muhammad. Both Ishmael and Isaac were present at the burial of their father, Abraham.
You squeal.
I laugh again.
