I have never seen a passage from the Bible, taken in its close context, that contradicts any Catholic doctrine. Not on this thread, and not ever. I have seen opinions, exegetical constructs and mistranslations, but not plain scripture, on the level of "by works a man is justified; and not by faith only" or "God Who will render to every man according to his works", or "As the Father hath sent me, I also send you. ... Whose sins you shall forgive, they are forgiven them; and whose sins you shall retain, they are retained", or "This is my body, which is given for you".

When I see theology expressed in biblical quotes the size of a bumper sticker, and I see kilobytes of self-propelled obfuscation, I know which Church to go to.
