I am asking for prayer for my marriage. My husband [name deleted by Mod for poster's own protection] has committed adultery. I know God hates divorce and this appears to be the direction he is taking. Lots of issues involved...I won't go into here..but he needs to come to repentance and to allow God to heal his heart...and mine too. The pain is almost too much to bear at this point. Our marriage needs divine healing and that is what I am asking you to pray for. God is not through with us as a couple yet...we have much work to do. Satan has tried to put a monkey wrench in the mix...but God is greater. Thanks for praying...
**Our marriage needs divine healing **
You and your husband need to do your part in saving your marriage before God can do His part.
If you are separated in a very difficult situation — register for a Retrovaille weekend for troubled marriages.
If you are still married, register for a Marriage Encounter weekend so that you can work on common issues.
If you are divorced, after six to 12 months, register for a Beginning Experience weekend for healing for yourself. (A link is on my profile page — click on my name to see it.)
All these weekends are non-denominational although all were started through the Catholic Church. There is no proselytizing on these weekends, although many do come back to the Catholic Church because of the positive effects of these weekends.
My prayers are for BOTH of you. Work at this together!
I’m so glad my husband and I went on a Marriage Encounter weekend. We had eight wonderful years after that before he died from lung cancer. And then Beginning Experience, a weekend for those who have suffered a loss of any kind, was of wonderful assistance to me.
Prayers offered for you and your husband.
Malachi 2:16
“I hate divorce,” says the LORD God of Israel, “and I hate a man’s covering himself with violence as well as with his garment,” says the LORD Almighty. So guard yourself in your spirit, and do not break faith.
I do believe that you were put on this earth to *resist* temptation.
PS: Women have temptation, as well. As individuals, it's our responsibility to be better than animals.
Prayers for this marriage.
For women, it's part of the howl of rage and pain. When we hurt, we lash out with the truth.
I've had to learn to shut my mouth. *I* may forgive, but my friends and family won't forgive the one who hurt me.
LOL. He is not done with all of us yet.
My post was directed to all.
The poster just happens to be just that...someone to reply to.
I’m not posting a judgment on what is in their minds, just what they put to pen, or opinion.
“the pain is almost too much to bear”
Give the hound his walking papers and move on. Life’s too short to be so unhappy.
Matthew 19:9
Context, Questions About Divorce
19:1 Now when 1 Jesus finished these sayings, he left Galilee and went to the region of Judea beyond the Jordan River. 2 19:2 Large crowds followed him, and he healed them there.
19:3 Then some Pharisees 3 came to him in order to test him. They asked, Is it lawful 4 to divorce a wife for any cause? 5 19:4 He answered, Have you not read that from the beginning the Creator made them male and female, 6 19:5 and said, For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and will be united with his wife, and the two will become one flesh? 7 19:6 So they are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, let no one separate. 19:7 They said to him, Why then did Moses command us to give a certificate of dismissal and to divorce her? 8 19:8 Jesus 9 said to them, Moses permitted you to divorce your wives because of your hard hearts, 10 but from the beginning it was not this way. 19:9 Now I say to you that whoever divorces his wife, except for immorality, and marries another commits adultery.
It’s prayer time in Maryland, Leenie.
You’re a good woman and a good wife. Be strong and God will provide healing for you and your family.
God bless.
I just got back on the computer after going to pick up my daughter who was away all weekend. I do not have to justify my request...I am hurting here and I know God can heal this whole situation for us. I simply asked for my friends here to stand with me to pray for my marriage...a simple request. I believe in prayer.
That's right, you don't.
Prayers up.
Prayers said!
wow..I just googled my name and found some hotsy totsy 21 year old with my user name. This is NOT me...I am a grandmother...my husband and I have been married almost 20 years....so please do not think this other person is me. Thank you
MAy GOD bless and heal your marraige..May you trust in his divine help...
Have you both watched the movie *Fireproof*? Wonderful movie for troubled marriages, and how GOD brings them back to redemption...
I’m disgusted. A fisherman that doesn’t believe in God (or prayer). What is this world coming to?
God already knows who you’re praying for and why. The point is, even if the person(s) you pray for are not deserving of your prayers, you are rewarded spiritually for having prayed for them.
Sheesh.
Prayers sent.

Malachi 2:16 (Masoretic Text):
"For the man who hates and divorces, says the LORD, the God of Israel, covers* his garment with violence, says the LORD of hosts. So guard yourselves in your spirit, and do not be faithless."
Pray for a good lawyer
