Please pray for my marriage

Posted on 11/29/2009 3:17:41 PM PST by leenie312

Edited on 11/29/2009 4:15:17 PM PST by Admin Moderator. [history]

I am asking for prayer for my marriage. My husband [name deleted by Mod for poster's own protection] has committed adultery. I know God hates divorce and this appears to be the direction he is taking. Lots of issues involved...I won't go into here..but he needs to come to repentance and to allow God to heal his heart...and mine too. The pain is almost too much to bear at this point. Our marriage needs divine healing and that is what I am asking you to pray for. God is not through with us as a couple yet...we have much work to do. Satan has tried to put a monkey wrench in the mix...but God is greater. Thanks for praying...

You really aren't looking to stay here very long, are you?

**Wow, this is like the third one I’ve seen in the last few days.**

Yes it is. The time from Thanksgiving through the end of the year is always full of stress. Prayers for all.

“God hates divorce EXCEPT in the case of adultery. It is the only grounds for a divorce in God’s eyes. Our pray is that He will heal your relationship but your willing to hold your marriage together in this difficult time is evidence of your walk with God.”

I understand it is the 3 “A’s” that are acceptable grounds for divorce for Christians.... adultery, abuse, and addiction.

Of course, God can heal all of these and bring wholeness to the marriage again.

***I wonder why leenie hasn’t come back on the thread to justify her request?***

Probably because of people like you. Go away!

Prayers for your marriage, either that God would heal you both or that hubby will have a rotten time in his new activities. Besides prayer, there are lots of churches that have Celebrate Recovery, and they have a "relational disfunction" component. A couple I know of went through it after one of them engaged in emotional adultry. It was hard on both of them, but being in accountable situation did wonders for them.

That said, for all you persons who doubt the sincerity of Leenie's plea for prayer, if it's a con, let the sin be on her head, not mine. I'm just doing my duty: praying for a situation I know my Lord Jesus can be glorified in and can redeem. 'Til then, a lot of guys would do better to keep their yaps shut.

adultery, abuse, and addiction

This is my understanding too. No way can a marriage be anything God intended it to be when any one of the the 3 "A's" is part of the marriage.

I have no problem praying for someone who has problems. I do have a problem with someone who posts their husbands name and says he's committed adultery.

And if you go back in her posts, you'll find out she talks about a local priest raping her sister and then there's the effeminate priest and her just imagining what goes on behind the doors.

This person and her husband are totally identifiable. You just don't post "private" stuff.

I’m very sorry for having offended a number of people here. It wasn’t my intention do so. I thought one was supposed to keep comments to the topics at hand but someone pointed out this WAS the topic at hand. Again, my deepest apologies for my intemperate question and my heart-felt hopes that the person in need can find a resolution to their marriage problems.

Prayers going up for wisdom, peace, clarity, forgiveness, mending the heart and your marriage!!!!

Ask the Holy Spirit to help with everything, for clarity of mind, to know what to do and how to proceed forward. Ask for peace in this storm. As hard as it is, try to take time with God to listen to what He has to say to you. He will give you wisdom and direction. Wait on God before doing anything, even the small things.

Blessings, God's peace and a big hug!!!!

After reading as many posts as I can stand....

I’m starting to realize that those that post prayers are a bunch of sanctimonious fools!

This thread has got me banned before, but it needs to be said!

Religion is not above all suspicion!

Well said on #133. Don't know if the need for a prayer is real, but in any event, the prayers will not be in vain. To borrow most of your words, my heart-felt hopes that any person in need can find a resolution to their problems.

First off, I agree about the religious part. Christianity is about a relationship not a religion but, some have made it so.

Second, why are you posting your judgments of people you don't even know? Do you know there hearts? Can you read there minds?
