The patriarch of the Orthodox Church of Ethiopia says he will announce to the world Friday the unveiling of the Ark of the Covenant, perhaps the world's most prized archaeological and spiritual artifact, which he says has been hidden away in a church in his country for millennia, according to the Italian news agency Adnkronos.
Abuna Pauolos, in Italy for a meeting with Pope Benedict XVI this week, told the news agency, "Soon the world will be able to admire the Ark of the Covenant described in the Bible as the container of the tablets of the law that God delivered to Moses and the center of searches and studies for centuries."
The announcement is expected to be made at 2 p.m. Italian time from the Hotel Aldrovandi in Rome. Pauolos will reportedly be accompanied by Prince Aklile Berhan Makonnen Haile Sellassie and Duke Amedeo D'Acosta.
Jeremiah 3:16 points to a time when the Ark will vanish not only physically, but from the minds of the people: "And it shall come to pass, when ye be multiplied and increased in the land, in those days, saith the LORD, they shall say no more, The ark of the covenant of the LORD: neither shall it come to mind: neither shall they remember it; neither shall they visit it; neither shall that be done any more."
The Book of Revelation says the Ark is in the temple of God in heaven (Rev. 11:19). Muslim scholars say it will be found near the end of times by the Mahdi – a messianic figure in Islam
I’m a bit Skeptic, although it would make sense that the Ark would enable the Temple to be built and usher in the Antichrist......

Irrelevant. JESUS CHRIST is the Ark of the NEW Covenant. Next to Him, anything alse is just a pretty box.
Lets go back just a little while to the 2 gomers and the Bigfoot body they said they found. Look at the news media attention they got even after the media was warned it was going to be a dud, by people who were familiar with the shenanigans of the man promoting the find.

Well..., who knows where it is... LOL.. (ummm..., on second thought, God does... ). And I’m sure that God will bring it about at the right time, if it is supposed to happen at all. That’s the part that I really don’t know about. I really don’t know (and haven’t seen from the Bible) that this is supposed to happen. Now, that doesn’t mean it won’t, but it doesn’t mean it will, either... :-)
I would welcome anyone’s thoughts on whether it will be revealed or it is still around — from what the Bible says about it (not from whether it existed in the past or not, because I know it existed in the past).

Yep, I thought so, too, but I didn’t make it up. That’s straight from Ann Coulter’s mouth and I think (don’t know for sure) that she originated it. At least she said it in an interview with O’Reilly, that I saw.
I had to cut off a word or two to get it to fit here, but that’s essentially what she said in “mocking” the pro-murder people... :-)

If I understand you right, this is a personal belief you have and not that it’s a “Biblical belief” that you have that the Bible says so... is that right? I hope that’s right in my understanding.
I only mention that, because it’s common for Christians to say “I believe such and such...” in indicating that they are stating some Biblical belief — versus — stating something that is solely and totally on their own and that the Bible does say it explicitly or implicitly.
I like to distinguish between the two... (I hope you understand...).

Now, here I would like to make a comment. I understand that an ark is revealed from Heaven, but I also understand that the earthly ark was a copy of the Heavenly one. So, I’m thinking that what is revealed there is the original one and not the earthly one that was carried around by the Jews...
What do you think about that?

Just my personal belief. I think the best we can do from the Scriptures concerned is to make extrapolated inferences.
Yeah, . . . a Heavenly one vs a copy . . .
I don’t know . . . I suspect . . . given the historic items . . . I think, IIRC, oddly, including the golden hemroids! . . .
sort of indicates that God has a . . . what . . . hobby, fascination . . . something in providing at least for man . . . certain . . . memorbilia . . . reminders of historic events with HIS KIDS???
Therefore, I believe that the earthly Ark will always have a certain place in God’s scheme of things.
We shall see.
