Time to call out the Big Guns.
Some of you have heard thru FReepmail that a week and a half ago a mass was found during a routine chest X-Ray. 2 days later they did a CT Scan. Yesterday I had a Biopsy done. I just got off the phone with my Doctor.
I have cancer.
Specifically, Adenocarcinoma. More tests need to be done to determine the stage and if it is just the one tumor or if it has spread.
Please include me in your Prayers that this can be treated. The most powerful weapon I can employ in this fight is Prayer.
You are very welcome for the update redleghunter. Amen to your prayer also.
You are very welcome fieldmarshaldj.
AG you are most welcome. You were remembered fondly in our phone conversation. Wish you and yours a very Merry Christmas and 2014. HUGS

Feeling somewhat stronger. Restarting chemo on Tuesday.

Just found your update. Hang in there! You are a warrior!
I will continue to pray for you and your family.
Isaiah 40:28-31 NKJV
Have you not known? Have you not heard? The everlasting God, the Lord , The Creator of the ends of the earth, Neither faints nor is weary. His understanding is unsearchable. He gives power to the weak, And to those who have no might He increases strength. Even the youths shall faint and be weary, And the young men shall utterly fall, But those who wait on the Lord Shall renew their strength; They shall mount up with wings like eagles, They shall run and not be weary, They shall walk and not faint.
For when you have some time to read. Not very long, but encouraging from Charles Spurgeon. God Bless!

Still in my thoughts. See you’ve posted recently, great to see. Prayers continue.
Different chemo, feeling better. I will know more after next week’s CT scan.
So very glad to know. Fingers crossed and prayers up for a good scan next week.
Petruchio, continuing to pray for you and think of you. I see you are on a different chemo regimen and feeling better. Praise God.
Update:
I know it has been a while. As last year progressed, things started to seem rather bleak. In October they switched my chemo because what I was on had stopped working and new tumors were growing. I was put on Taxatere. That stuff is NASTY! Many side effects. All my hair fell out in one day. The inside of my mouth became one huge bloody open sore. I was so dizzy and weak that I was confined to a wheelchair. My white cell count fell to near zero. Constant diarrhea. All my finger nails and toenails fell off. I had 2 stays in the Hospital that lasted about a week each time. The second one included a ride in an ALS Ambulance from the Cancer Center.
During that time I sat down with my Brother and Sister and made my funeral arrangements. It was at this time that I had called amom. I had pretty much stopped posting on FR because I felt so crappy. It was around Thanksgiving that they stopped all chemo so I could either die or get stronger. Slowly I got stronger.
In late January I restarted chemo with Gemzar. Very few side effects. I get a wee bit of nausea, and my platelet count gets very low. But it seems to be working. My latest CT Scan shows all remaining tumors are either stable (2) or shrinking (8). The newest tumors in my left lung are now hard to see.
I am still kinda weak, but am out of the wheelchair. My hair is growing back, gray, but at least it is hair. I even have thoughts of planting a small veggie garden. (veggies are too damn expensive)
I am starting to have some hope again. I have been in chemo for a year and a half now. It is getting kinda old . . .
Thank you so much for the update. Sounds like you have been through a lot. May our Good Lord sustain you, my FRiend.
So good to see you on the upswing. I will continue to pray for you.
Thank you for the update. Prayers will vontinue for strength and healing.
Continue not vontinue
Believe in God’s desire to heal you through Jesus Christ. That’s what He wants for you! Stay strong and speak life and health and healing over yourself each and every day. God bless!
I'm so happy I will treat myself to a Dove chocolate ice cream bar with dark chocolate coating for dessert tonight!
And as I take the first exquisite bite I'll say "here's looking at you, kid" and make a toast that you continue your progress which is going in the totally right direction!
And we love everything RIGHT, right???
RIGHT !!!

Very very glad to see your update. Some good progress going on there. I am happy to hear you are thinking of planting a small garden too. You’ve come a long way in the last year and a half. I continue to pray for better times to come for you.
