Was he excommunicated for producing pornography and trying to tie it to the Church? I'd bet money on it.

You'd lose...

In other words, to live a good life and serve in other less dangerous capacities is equal to serving in the military in times of war.

You will not find a more patriotic group of Christians.

So they are Christians now?Not really...

That sentence means that CHRISTIANS are no more patriotic that MORMONS.

(In her opinion - I assume.)

4. Was he excommunicated for producing pornography and trying to tie it to the Church? I'd bet money on it. Church policy is that that information on Church discipline is personal in nature and not to be discussed publicly.

And yet (mormon) Marriott is the largest purveyors of porn in the country. Go figure.

Oh I will not debate that point. Indeed I know two Mormons who were outstanding and decorated Marines.

Like many things LDS there seems to be a variation to every story.

You can never go to Church and still be a member.

But if you are a "member" and never go to church, they will hunt you down like a wanted criminal no matter how many years it has been since you darkened the door of a mormon church.

I have two adult children that were baptized mormon when children, one was called after dozens of years of non-attendance and actually joining another church, to tithing settlement.

The other child is middle-aged, hasn't been in a mormon church for decades, and recently was hunted down and even though he threw the bishop off the property and told him "no contact", the mishies are knocking on the door with regularity.

And as far as the mormon excuse, "if someone just requests "name removal" through the "proper channels", that is all that's required, that is merely an attempt of the mormon church to control the situation.

Many people don't know that once a local "authority" is notified of your resignation, you are LEGALLY a non-member and further contact is harrassment.

Many years ago I dated a Mormon girl. She told me that her church (LDS) tries to get young men to sign as “Conscientious objectors”.

She was either seriously misinformed or lying. I served with a number of Mormons during my nine years in the Navy.

In other words, to live a good life and serve in other less dangerous capacities is equal to serving in the military in times of war.

Here's what Mitt had to say about it:

"My sons are all adults and they've made decisions about their careers and they've chosen not to serve in the military and active duty and I respect their decision in that regard. One of the ways my sons are showing support for our nation is helping me get elected because they think I'd be a great president. I respect that and respect all those and the way they serve this great country."

Check it out here

I never heard that, but if it were in time of war, maybe she was embarrassed because most of the young men she knew were off on missions instead of in the military serving their country.

BYU doesn’t accept federal money.

FROM THE DESERET NEWS

"BYU indirectly receives millions of dollars in federal funding each year in the form of Pell Grants and student loans given to students. It also is the direct beneficiary of research grants, including $1.2 million from the Department of Education for BYU's new Center for the Study of Europe, which opened in September."
