May God watch over Dennis and guide those who care for him. May He give Dennis and his family peace and strength to endure this trial. May He restore Dennis to health in His service, in Jesus' name.

I spoke with Dennis this morning, he is still in ICU and a bit groggy but doing as well as can be expected.

From his email Tuesday “I’m telling everyone I’ve got my 4 F’s all in a row, Faith, Family, Friends, and Physicians. Without my faith, my incredibly supportive family, the friends that have been praying for me, and the fine doctors here at Northwestern Memorial, I’d be nowhere. With you, I am calm, and ready to take on the next challenge.”

Thank you everyone for your continued Prayers

The Missus and I went to visit Dennis(Doc) yesterday evening and he looks great Saturday was rough but they are counting the Miracles. The surgery lasted nine hours and went well, all of the many tests are coming back with good news.

I don’t know why it still amazes me that we can actually sense the prayers in our name but Doc and his wife Angle confirm the warm somewhat indescribable feeling of peace that comes when so many people are Praying. All Glory and Praise to God Almighty.

I received this update from a friend of Doc's I will gather any intentions left on this thread before the 14th and place them in the basked for Katharine’s pilgrimage mentioned below

As you know this past spring Doc was diagnosed with renal cancer and under went surgery to remove one of his kidneys. The surgery was a success, but several weeks later it was found that the cancer had moved to his lungs. Doc is now undergoing chemotherapy to fight the cancer.

Doc has said the best thing we can do for him is pray. Both Doc and Angel have shared that your prayers have been fruitful filling them with peace, courage, strength and comfort. Please continue to pray for them and for their children, Devin and Kailin.

A number of Doc’s friends have felt called to seek the intercession of Pope John Paul II and we invite others to do so as well.

A friend shared with me that in a few weeks her daughter, Katharine, will be making a trip to Poland, the home of John Paul the Great. While in Poland she will be visiting the John Paul sites. She has offered to carry with her our intentions for Doc and his family and as she visits each of these sites she will offer our intentions as she prays for John Paul’s intercession.

I invite you to come before our Lord in the Blessed Sacrament, in the Holy Cross Adoration Chapel, on Thursday evening August 14th at 8:00 pm that we may spend an hour in the presence of our Lord Jesus Christ united in prayer for Doc and his family.

If you are unable to join us on the 14th I ask you to make a Holy Hour for Doc and his family at another time.

If you wish for your intentions to be included in those prayers offered during Katharine’s pilgrimage please place your petitions in the basket that will be on the table outside of the Adoration Chapel from August 7th thru August 14th.
