Vanity: Need Prayer for my youngest daughter

Dear Freepers,

I've never asked for prayers on FR, but I have to now. Would you please pray for my youngest daughter, who's 19?

I am in tears because she was just diagnosed with a large nodule on her thyroid. I had mine removed to papillary cancer in '06, and I'm praying and hoping that she doesn't have to have hers removed as well. It tends to run in my family, my grandmother had hers removed too.

She is a strong young woman, in college, and is a blessing to our family. She is scared for a variety of reasons as I'm sure you can understand. She remembers the misdiagnosis's I've had, the undertreatment, and overtreatment, prior to the correct diagnosis. She doesn't want to go through all of that. She's still at the doctors office...(she originally went for a sinus infection)..he sent her to get scheduled for a thyroid scan.

I know the risks of the surgery...one of which could be paralyzing a vocal cord. Obviously, her health, peace and welfare are far more important.....but singing is one of her greatest loves in life. I hope it's not selfish for me to pray that God protects her vocal chords, so that she can continue to sing. God forgive me if I am being selfish.

That was the case with someone I know with that diagnosis.

Kim, I pray the surgery is a success. I am a thyroid patient myself (Graves' Disease), and just had my 4th eye surgery this past week due to thyroid eye disease.

I opted for Radioactive Iodine as a treatment in 1991 (I had no nodules on mine), but I wish I had opted for surgery instead. As you probably know, thyroid eye disease is much more common down the road in patients who opted for Radioactive Iodine over surgery. So, she should do better in the long run by having the gland removed.

Father protect her singing ability, that she may come out of this able to continue praising you with her voice for as long as she lives. IN Jesus Name I bind any issues of Cancer or thyroid problems, declare them null, void and powerless. In Jesus Name we loose health and strength and healing to her body, her thyroid, her lymph system, and any sickness or disease within her body is declare null, void, powerless to harm her and removed from her. Father you promise in Your Word where 2 or more agree in prayer that You will hear and answer, and there are far more than 2 here. We thank You that You are a faithful God, Your promises to perform. “Whatever is loosed on earth in Jesus name is loosed in heaven and whatever is bound on earth in Jesus name is bound in heaven.” Give this young lady and family a life testimony for You and may You name be glorified and praised every time she sings a note! Hallelujah! Give them peace and courage, boldness to stand in Your Name and the ability to not receive any words contrary to those in Your Word and Your promises. Father we thank you for all you are doing and will do within this family! Bless and keep them! We thank and Praise Your Holy Name. In Jesus Name, AMEN!

Thank you so much for your continued prayers. We are still waiting for the doctor’s response to the test. As of yesterday, his office has not received the sonogram results..As soon as that’s done, we’ll go to the endocrinologist and the throat surgeon.

I haven’t heard much about thyroid eye disease. You are in my prayers, and I’m so sorry about what you are going through. I appreciate your willingness to share your story very much. I had no idea that the radioactive iodine treatment wasn’t as effective as the surgery itself.
