Childish behavior |

They're called the "Lost Boys," the teenagers kicked out of their homes and communities by leaders of the polygamist Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints to ensure there's an ample supply of single, young women who will one day become plural wives. Representative Lorie Fowlke (R-Orem), is running a bill to make this abandonment a felony.
"Estimates are that we've had more than 1,000 children - primarily in southern Utah - thrown out of their homes," Fowlke says. "What we were trying to do with this bill is criminalize this behavior and send a message to this community that they can't just throw away their children."
H.B. 23 adds child abandonment to the definition of child abuse, and makes it a felony crime. It also adds an enhancement if a parent or organization benefits from the child's abandonment to further an illegal enterprise, such as polygamy. This is the case with the FLDS church, says Roger Hoole, a lawyer who represents some of the displaced young men and sits on the board for the Utah Association for Justice. He says the church benefits from kicking out young men who would compete for plural wives. This, he says, has devastating consequences.
"There's a huge impact that's coming, like a tsunami, that's going to hit the state of Utah, when these boys get a little older and realize what has happened to them and get angry," Hoole says. "There's a real problem here."
Fowlke's bill gained unanimous support in a Senate committee this morning, and now heads to the full Senate for consideration.
Yep and you should pay attention from implying to embellishment!
lightweights.....fire up that expresso machine with a double shot of chocolate :P
No Jesus said "He who is with out sin cast the first stone! Stop Speculating because you want to kill the messinger!
There is a difference between obeying God's commands and His Word by NOT FOLLOWING after false prophets and those who claim to be prophets of God when they, the false prophets/teachers, do things and says things which go against God's word and commands, and JUDGING OTHERS by making statements concerning their heart's desires and intentions.
As to "casting stones" and making judgments upon those who post in FR, I question why you are then the person who would have done the following to me, since that is clearly wrong. It is reflective of what you have also said about others on this thread. It appears to me the only reason you are doing so is because you dislike what is being said about JOSEPH SMITH, not because of any personal attacks against you.
To my knowledge, the following post was my VERY FIRST post in which I made any comment concerning the HISTORY of the "Mormon religion" or Romney's Mormon background. (As concerns Romney politically, I was and remain opposed to him as a candidate for president or vice president because, based upon information I have read of his past/current actions and policies, I believe he is and has misrepresented himself as a "conservative," as is my right).
Despite the fact that this was my FIRST EVER POST concerning Joseph Smith and HIS background, you, out of the blue, from a response I made not addressed to you, stated that "I and others run around gossiping about things I do not, nor want to understand..." Again, this DESPITE THE FACT that my post CLEARLY SHOWS that I not only "gave a pass to Romney" for the "sins of his grandfather," but that I also planned to read, and therefore, LEARN ABOUT what I had not been previously aware of. Therefore, if I had not been aware of this previously, why did YOU ACCUSE me of running around GOSSIPING about it?
To: Zakeet
The exposition of Mormonism's prophet, Joseph Smith, as a serial statutory rapist (eleven of Smith's wives were between ages 14 and 20), a swinger (11 of Smith's wives were married and cohabiting with their husbands, while married to Smith), and a liar (Smith repeatedly denied he engaged in polygamy).I wasn't aware of this, Zakeet. (As far as the sins of Romney's grandfather....I give Romney as pass on that...he isn't/wasn't responsible for what his grandfather did).
Thank you for your post....I don't know how I'll be able read up on all of this within the time required, lol.

To: nicmarloRomney grandfather did not committ sin there is no sin when the Lord blessed it as in the days of Abraham and Jacob/Isreal!
What this Warren group did has nothing to do with the Lord annoited Church, any more than Jim Jones had to do with the Trinity believers!
I am not saying you can not have your own take on this but as a LDS I know it is not true what you and others who run around gossiping about things you do not, nor want to understand and understanding only comes by with a sincere heart, with real intent, having faith in Christ he will manifest the truth of it unto you, by the power of the Holy Ghost.

BTW, have you ever made White Chocolate Instant Pudding with strawberry yogurt and chopped/thawed strawberries? It's gooood.
You never know just WHAT will be considered a sin by some folks, do you? ;) And what WON’T, more to the point, I guess.
You are mentioned in my post #1004 and I forgot to ping you.
Yet another slur.
Maybe I should have asked Resty ????

Sorry if I was guilty of implying to embellishment
Would you please provide me with an example where I said something untrue about Joseph Smith's sexual practices?
I would like to learn from my mistake(s) and publicly issue the appropriate apologies and retraction(s).
Thanks.
/Zak
Incidentally, if your are referring to Todd Compton's list of Joseph's 33 plural wives, you should know Todd is (was?) a devout Mormon and a respected historian. His roster is accepted by most serious scholars as authoritative.
However, it may interest you to know some historians assert Compton was far too conservative. For example, in her classic biography No Man Knows My History, Fawn Broadie makes a compelling argument Joseph had 58 plural wives. She bases the crux of her argument on material (including marriage records) taken from LDS archives. You should refer to Appendix D of her book for citations in support of her claim.
BINGO!
I make a variation of that one that was called ‘Blueberry Essie’ in another lifetime, for my first wife’s Aunt Essie. Use Blueberry Yogurt, no milk, 1 small Cool Whip, and Cheesecake Instant Pudding. The cookies are again crumbled Shortbread cookies, no cooked crust. You add a can of blueberry pie filling to the 1 and 1/2 cups of blueberry yogurt (less yogurt because of the lie filling), then mix everything in with a folding action and chill. Can top with 1/3 of the blueberry pie filling. If you like, mix the 1/3 can of pie filling with 8oz Cream Cheese for a topping before chilling. If loaded into tall wine glasses, makes a nice parfait for dinner parties.
to big should read ‘too big’ ... that naner puddin’ is calling me!
lol.............now, that’s my favorite!
And homemade tapioca pudding!
Lemon Lush ... hmmm, wonder if you could make that with an orange base and add Gran Marn., then parfait the lot, for adult desserts? Maybe a slice of fresh cold Valencia orange and fresh lemon on the edge of the glass rim?
"kick against the Church"?
Where exactly is this reference, restornu (is this a biblical reference, or a fraudulent seeing stone reference, or a wishful thinking reference)?
Oh...and by the way, Jesus did answer Pilate the first time but not the second time (after Pilate rejected the Truth by asking, "What is truth?"). Jesus is GOd and was under no perogative to answer Pilate, which Jesus explains later in the referenced passage.
Your reference to Pilate's conversation with Jesus, as it relates to this thread and my asking what salvation is and how one obtains it, is like equating appples with a.... pepsi can.
No better than the herds of animals where the dominant male gets all the females and the other males just stand around. However, with the animals, this is more or less instinctive. What’s the excuse with these sub-humans?
