BURBANK, California, June 19, 2007 (LifeSiteNews.com) - Last night on the "Tonight Show with Jay Leno," comedian Robin Williams plugged his upcoming movie, "License to Wed." In the film, Williams plays a Protestant minister who forces an engaged couple to go through a grueling marriage preparatory course. But last night Williams went off on Catholic priests, painting them as pedophiles.
Williams pretended to be playing a game where the pedophile is hidden under a cup, suggesting that this was an image of the Church's attitude towards dealing with "pedophile" priests. "Here we go. Find the priest, find the pedophile. Find the priest, find the pedophile. Here you go right now. Move 'em around, move 'em around. Oh, you found the pedophile."
Williams then put his hand over his groin, saying, "You have to realize that if you are a Catholic priest, you have retired this. That's it--no more sex." Then he took a shot at confession, saying "But they are going to put you in a small dark box and people are going to tell you the nastiest sexual stuff they have done."
This is not the only time that Williams has done this routine. In a MoviesOnline interview about his upcoming film, Williams launched into the same routine, also suggesting that the Church should repeal its teachings on priestly celibacy.
Catholic League president Bill Donohue responded to Williams' routine with outrage. "Isaiah Washington lashes out at one gay person in private, and he is banished from 'Grey's Anatomy.' Robin Williams lashes out against all priests in public, and he suffers no consequence," said Donahue. "To top it off, Williams suggests that most molesting priests are pedophiles, when in fact they are homosexuals. But to make a joke about gay priests could get him into trouble."
"One more thing," Donahue continued, "in an interview with MoviesOnline, Robin Williams recently said that 'you can't poke fun at certain religions,' noting that 'we just made major fun of the Catholic Church but hey, they don't blow you up.' So not only is Williams a bigot and a liar, he's a coward. No wonder he's so well received in Tinseltown."
In the lengthy MoviesOnline interview Williams was asked, "Have you had feedback from any religious groups about any of the religious jokes you've done in the past?"
He responded, "Oh yeah, you always do because organized religion, you can't poke fun at certain religions. Hence, right now [assumes Middle Eastern voice] if I was to dress you in a full Burka, someone would go, "What are you doing?" [normal voice] I mean it's difficult because you have to realize that we just made major fun of the Catholic church but hey, they don't blow you up. The Pope will just excommunicate and you know I haven't gotten a lot of communications originally from him so... "

Promiscuous, fornicating Hollywood can't even come close to getting its head around a concept like chastity. It just blows their minds.
That is because there is nothing else in their lives. In the absence of any sort of authentic spirituality, sex is their god. Being deprived of it therefore is a mind blowing thought.
Robin Williams needs to get updated/educated on Catholicism. Full of inaccuracies or downright lies.

I’m sorry to say that there isn’t a link to being homosexual and being a pedophile. Being homosexual means being attracted to someone of your own sex. Being a pedophile means being attracted to a very young person of either sex. And no, I’m not either one, but people should know what they are talking about. There are married people out there that are still pedophiles. Just look at some of the cases with teachers etc.
The fact is most priests were attracted to post pubescent boys;this is typical homosexual behavior and the priests were homosexuals. The MSM had no idea what they were going to encounter when they started the latest attack on the Church. They,along with many of the bishops and their lay minions tried to pin the distasteful,ugly and universally abhorrent label "pedophiles" on the abusers,hoping to deal a deadly blow to the Catholic Church.
However,ordinary Catholics,rightfully disgusted started scrutinizing the data and lo and behold,they found the MSM had gored their own sacred cow,homosexuals. Being protected by the media and a certain element within the Church,it still remains pretty much the elephant in the living room but those who are interested in truth,know. And now,you do too!!
What faith is Robin Williams? I don’t know much about him in real life. I’ve only seen a few of his movies, and the ones I’ve seen, I’ve enjoyed. These comments have really taken him down a notch in my book. I wish that celebrities would keep their mouths shut about politics and religions - two things they really have poor understanding of.
Donahue didn’t say most pedophiles are homosexuals. What he did say was that most of the abusive priests were. Which is correct.
The studies of the offending priests have shown they were by a large majority homosexual. Since they attacked boys I would say homo pedo is the right label for those priests.
The question is why do religious people, conservatives, traditionalists still spend hours a day watching TV stations that are hurting people with constant filth like this? Why not turn off the tube and settle in with a good book, or the internet, or a cd of something worthwhile? I think we can do something huge if we just opt out of viewing; watch only good broadcasters.
I’ve never understood why anyone thinks Williams’ comedy routines are funny. Some of his movie roles have been well done, but seeing him do stand-up is painful. He’s crude and weird, imho.
Even more disappointing is how the church covered up for years.

I love Bill Donohue. We need a million more like him. It's time Catholics stopped rolling over for this crap.

Nine of ten abuse victims were teenage boys. That means the abusers were homosexuals (ephebophiles), not pedophiles.
Notice that the media takes great pains in avoiding that fact.
Homosexuals infiltrated Catholic seminaries in the 1970s. The damage has not been fully undone.
Technically, pedophilia is being sexually attracted to prepubescent children although some have come to understand it as sex with someone under the age of consent.
It is much more accurate to describe the molesters as homosexuals than as pedophiles. I guess if you want to use the less-precise definition you can call them homosexual pedophiles but that would be akin to calling a man who has sex with a 16-year-old girl a heterosexual pedophile.
