In case you haven't been keeping up -- and, as it's August, who could blame you? -- the Anglican Communion is still doing its utmost to make the Catholic conversation look civil and decent by comparison.
As plans develop for the early November inaugural of Presiding Bishop-elect Katharine Jefferts Schori, the latest developments have a representative of archbishop of Canterbury Rowan Williams slated to meet in New York with six bishops of the Episcopal church (four dissidents, the PB and PB-elect), a Virginia cleric ordained under the aegis of the church of Nigeria (with the blessing of the conservative American Anglican Council) and, of course, the ultimate harbinger of broken communion -- the specter of lawsuits.
Somebody up to school our Anglican brethren in bella figura?

Bishop-elect Katharine Jefferts Schori As a catholic, I give her credit for pursuing her 'call to ordination' outside the Catholic Church, rather than insisting on striking dischord and misleading confused Catholics within the Catholic Church.

Clarification: she was only a RC until the age of 8, when her parents left the RC church and became Episcopalians. So "former RC priestess" means "former RC until the age of 8, and then
Episcopalian priestess."
In case anybody was wondering...

Thanks for the clarification and correction to the title of the post. She is an "episcopal" priestess.

"What is a "former Roman Catholic priestess?"
Entirely imaginary.

She's not really a Catholic other than the fact of her baptism in the church, which her parents abandoned.
Her parents became Episcopalians when she was only 8 -- just barely old enough to be capable of sin or receive First Communion. She had no more choice about it than any other infant has about where they're baptized.
Once she became of age, of her own free will she did not return to the church and continued an Episcopalian.
That headline is really misleading.
Although I'm glad she's not one of those silly old women who insist on being 'ordained' as pseudo-Catholics.
