There are forces at work in the Catholic Church trying to make this happen but it will never happen in the Catholic Church because you have Clear Doctrine, something we havent had in a long time. Many of your bishops, archbishops and cardinals have the unique ability of showing themselves to be orthodox and compassionate. It has served the American Catholic Church very well. We do not have a Magesterium as you do. Amen!

How Did The Catholic Church Avoid The Dire Situation That Looms For The Episcopal Church? Because the Catholic church maintains an anti-homosexual doctrine while turning a blind eye to homosexual acts between priests and the predation of young boys by priests.

The Catholic Church has been knowingly ordaining gay priests for years. Because of celibacy those priests have keep their desires under the radar, but certainly have acted on them surreptitiously. Until their sexual partners go public gay priests have a perfect situation.

From Erik's rants and recipes blogSomeone asked me, "instead of just slinging invective against the Anglicans [sic], why don't you read what they have to say and answer their points?"
Short answer: Because when I do read their spew, I tend to despise them as people and not just their false church as an abstract. Ignoring their actual words does wonders for keeping my view of them in the realm of charity and compassion.
When I actually hear the words of the Mitred Harlot and her army of Priestesses, I am far less sympathetic than when I can pretend that they are good-natured, yet misguided, etc.
I am firmly convinced that a girl will have a better chance of working out her salvation in a whorehouse than running around pretending to ordination.
The Fish and Chips Offer...The point was to talk about good news, which is the fracturing of the Anglican Communion.....
However, I think that we should, as parishes, confraternities, individuals, offer free fish and chips dinners to those who leave Canterbury for the One, True, Holy, Catholic, and Apostolic Church.
Maybe a free fish and chips dinner every Friday for the first year, and a pint of Watneys on Sundays. Now, with ideas like that, could someone please tell me why I am not in charge of ecumenical affairs?

I am from Los Angeles and in West Hollywood and Pasadena our churches are doing very well. I understand the Episcopal churches in Sodom and Gomorrah are also packed these days.

Because of their agenda, more and more Episcopalians will leave for the Catholic Church, the Orthodox Church or Evangelical churches. And also the Continuing churches.

I would certainly hope that a large number of converts come our way....might be nice to hear what proper singing sounds like.
Though they are wrong not all will be conservative.
I work with a woman who is High Liturgist, socially conservative who thinks Ordaining women is valid. Since the election of the woman Bishop she is openly talking about swimming the river...she thinks the woman is a totally unqualified liberal.

Dave Hartline What about 2,000 years of Christian tradition?
Rev. Susan Russell... I am a cradle Episcopalian. I still believe in the One Holy Catholic Apostolic Church. I grew up saying that. I don't know if you are aware of it but that's what we said. I want to have unity with your church but we aren't going back to being second class citizens. You know we have a level of support in all of the churches, including yours and among some important people too. Just not important enough. {Bolding mine}.
The important Persons are the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. No other support matters.

As my wife said to me, imagine how you would feel if some group or social movement tried to take over the Catholic Church? Well it almost happened. I distinctly remember being in grade school (1970s) and hearing a liberal priest telling a friends parents, Just wait by the end of this decade all of the barriers of this Church will come crashing down. He's 100% right, it almost did. Yet something happened....not even sure what or why exactly. Orthodoxy is in resurgence; bishops are growing spines.
Is it because we are smarter, wiser, less sinners than Anglicans? I don't think so.
The only thing that keeps us together is that promise that "the gates of hell shall not prevail against it". Somehow, somewhere, someway, against all hope or reason, torn apart by sinful men, bruised and battered and beaten from one continent to the other, betrayed and backstabbed by its own bishops, the Church still stands in the end.
If that isn't proof of God's Providence....

Rev. Susan Russell It is growing. I am sure you have been told it is not but I can tell you it is. Dave Hartline So tell me Rev. Russell, why is it that the sky is blue?
Rev. Susan Russell It isn't. I'm sure you've been told that it's blue, but I can tell you that it is red.

I was wondering why you accompanied this with a couple of party boys on the beach. It took me a minute to figure out that these are two people (hopefully both priests) celebrating the Eucharist.
We do "Mass in the Grass" ourselves once or twice a year. As a Scouter, I've attended outdoor services many a time. So I have no problem with this conceptually.
