These are people who believe they have outgrown not only the Church, but God as well.
These are people who believe they are God.
The story says it was going once since 1994 with no response from the bishop until the Vatican stepped in.

It's been attributed to about three saints. My version is Saint John of the Cross.
It's too bad that more people aren't familiar with the writings of Saint John of the Cross, his description of man's transition from egocentric to reliance upon God is incredible.
Nahh! It's perfectly okay to put grape wine in a pottery cup, and, trust me, that's all she's holding up -- grape wine and some bread or cake product that looks like a giant, lacquered hamburger bun.
If they stopped calling themselves “Catholic,” then they would have to give up their dream—which is to dismantle or at least radically alter the Catholic Church.
Anybody can start a new Protestant church, or join an existing one. That’s not what these “Catholics” want to do.
