Here are the some of the results of a 1999 Gallup poll on creationism, evolution, and public education :
49% believe that human beings have developed over millions of years from less advanced forms of life.
Evolution theory is the most important weapon to twist people's minds.
For 99% of the people the most important REAL reason for believing in it : a trick that costed a few bucks, 100 years ago.
Even more incredible : the trick has remained the same until now.
Only lately, with very fast computers that allow virtual reality software to perform convincing enough, have we seen some effects added to the base trick.
I wonder who is the first Freeper to find out the trick behind the most devastating lie in the history of mankind.

I have some news about that swamp land. A couple decades ago someone invented the retention pond -- saves the hassle and expense of draining wetlands. All those swamplands are now cities and subdivisions.

Theocracy is not necessarily a bad word. It depends who uses/misuses the concept. Many tyrants have (mis)used religion to accomplish command and control goals.

Personally, I'd like to see men in places of power who actually have given serious thought as to what is right and what is wrong.

I can't imagine where the Founders ever legislated that. If I'm not mistaken, the 1st Amendment forbids the fedgov to legislate or otherwise restrict any man/god relationship or social structures.

I don't believe the people who are at war with the god idea got their inspiration from the Founding Fathers...

Actually, if one believes in a god we already live in a theocracy bound by natural and unseen law. We have free will to do as we please and be responsible for the consequences. That's an ideal theocracy for my imagination. It also sounds a little like anarchy.
