SUPPORT OUR TROOPS! Freedom Rally Against Terror and Tyranny on Sat., Oct. 25, 2003 in Wash., D.C.

For too long, America's fighting men and women have been laboring on a two-front war not of their choosing: The front against terror and tyranny that they volunteered for, and the flank that we must defend for them against efforts by the media and leftists to undermine their morale and resolve.
All summer long, and now into fall, our brave men and women have been doing great work in Iraq, Afghanistan and other areas around the world eliminating terrorist threats to our security while bringing freedom to oppressed people.
Those efforts have been buried under an onslaught of biased reporting and political maneuvering by the enemies of freedom at home and abroad.
On Saturday, October 25 at 11 a.m., patriotic Americans will gather at the Capitol in Washington, D.C. to stand up for our troops and reiterate our support for them, their Commander-in-Chief, America and the war on terror.
All FReepers and lurkers in good standing, their friends and families, and all who support our troops and their mission are encouraged to attend. Nothing but a strong public showing will do. Those in uniform are making great sacrifices. The least we can do is give up one day to say "thank you!" to them.
What: The Freedom Rally Against Terror and Tyranny
When: Saturday, October 25, 2003, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Where: The West Front of the Capitol Building at 3rd Street, on the Mall.
Bring: American and Gadsden flags (large and small,) service and Blue Star flags, and signs bearing messages of support for our troops.
Confirmed Speakers:
The Honorable Robert K. Dornan
Niger Innis
Blanquita Cullum
Rebecca Davis.
More speakers to be announced soon.
This rally will be held rain or shine.
As always, the D.C. Chapter's rules for protesting will be in effect. Briefly, they are: No violence, no profanity, no racism, no provocations, obey the law and treat all law enforcement officers with respect.
This will be the 6th rally in the last 18 months we have sponsored. We haven't done them all by ourselves and we are most appreciative of the help we have received. We humbly ask once again for any help that can be provided to send a message of support for our troops. Please click here to help.

Operation Tribute to Freedom is a website containing news about the war on terrorism, suggestions on how individuals can help or organize a meeting or rally of their own to support the troops or remember those wounded or lost, and a map showing the locations of events planned.
The DC Chapter's Freedom Rally is listed on their website map under "DC" at this location:
http://pacific.afis.osd.mil/otf/new_events/dc.html Look for more news soon about the rally and counterprotest of the anti-war, anti-American "ANSWER" march through DC. on October 25, 2003.

The DoD linked up with FR for an official Operation Tribute to Freedom event (+ a plug on the DoD website)? Cool!
A legitimate office of the U.S. government acknowledges FR's patriotism. Maybe Jim Robinson can use this as exhibit "Z" in the Fresno / "FR is not a hate group" lawsuit. *g*
E-mailing.
Thank you for all you do, Angelwood.

As far as I know, Taxman will be there. Hey, Taxman, please confirm.
We'll be having a rally and a counterprotest -- it's a two-fer (not the Clinton kind!). The Rally information is now up on the www.townhall.com calendar, as well as the Operation Tribute to Freedom DOD website. Oh, the other side put up our rally info, too.
More details will be posted soon.

I sent Operation Tribute to the Troops info about the "With Love and Appreciation" CD-ROM slideshow. They would be a great resource to further the distribution to our Troops. I'm going to send out a VetsCoR Bulletin to our members and readers to promote your rally. Thank you again for doing it.

The Operation Tribute website is very informative. I'm sure they will be interested in your slideshow of pictures at rallies across America. Thanks for promoting the rally. We appreciate your support. I hope some of your members nearby can attend on the 25th.

Well, you have at least one member and a VetsCoR director, Taxman. If dixie sass is able to attend, then you have a member of our Advisory Board (and a true asset). I'll directly contact our other DC area Advisory Board member, Trueblackman. Wish I could be there.

BillF... How did your stand of bamboo fare through the hurricane last month?
I am working on an idea... and will need access to some tall support devices that would enhance my chosen method of communication. If you have some available, and have time to choose the sturdiest of the tall, I would be much obliged. I'm still calculating how many I would need... at least three - perhaps six. I'm tempted to think Texas-scale, but that would require even more. We can talk this weekend.

Excerpt from the Remarks by President Bush in honor of Independence Day
United States Air Force Museum, Dayton, Ohio | July 4, 2003
"...Our nation is still at war. The enemies of America plot against us.
And many of our fellow citizens are still serving and sacrificing
and facing danger in distant places.
Many military families are separated. Our people in uniform do not have easy duty,
and much depends on their success. Without America's active involvement in the world,
the ambitions of tyrants would go unopposed, and millions would live at the mercy of terrorists.
With Americans' active involvement in the world, tyrants learn to fear, and terrorists are on the run..."
