Political commentator Rush Limbaugh (search) returned to his popular radio program Friday and said he was "frustrated" about allegations that he was involved in the sale and use of illegal drugs.
Limbaugh was back on the air one day after his name surfaced as the possible target of a criminal probe into the sale and use of illegal drugs in south Florida.
On the national program, which is carried by about 650 stations across the country, Limbaugh spoke briefly about the allegations of his drug use but avoided going into specifics. He said he was "a little frustrated" that he had not "gotten to the bottom" of what was happening.
"The story in Florida really is an emerging situation ... I don't really know the full scope of what I'm dealing with," he said. Limbaugh said he'd been humbled by all the supportive e-mails he'd received from fans, estimating he'd received about 25,000.
As for all the media stories that have emerged about the drug investigation, Limbaugh said that he was "tempted" to respond to them but "I'm not going to go there."
But he vowed to discuss the case in detail in the future.
"Rest assured, I will discuss this with you and tell you how it is ... maybe more than you really want to know about this," he said.

Continually accusing someone of guilt because there was not a public confession in front of 20 million people is IGNORANT AND STUPID. My comment was not directed at those who are withholding judgment. I am not one of those withholding judgement. There is absolutely nothing to be lost by him saying "I never bought illegal narcotics from my maid". It is not a complicated case.

My cousin is married to a very respected OB/GYN who specializes in high risk pregnancies. He is one of the top guys in the field. His hero is Dr. Nick Rivera. He always jokes about adding a diploma from Hollywood Upstairs Medical College to his wall. I have often thought of getting him one as a gift.

And I know you have read my Narc comment, so put this post in context.

He's be foolish to say ANYTHING before knowning what the allegations are.Why would he be foolish to say, "I neither illegally acquired prescription painkillers nor asked or allowed anyone to do so for me"?

I was a drug user in my youth.
The alleged amounts of drugs involved are way beyond pain management and are for getting high...very high.
I've seen folks take upwards of 150 milligrams of lortab or norco a day for a heavy buzz for someone with high tolerance build-up. That is hydrocodone...an opiate derivative. Oddly, the massive doses of acetominophen (tylenol) are more dangerous at that level.
If Rush was in pain, he should have gone to a pain manager for a fentanyl transdermal patch or a morphine lollipop.
What the truth is here is impossible to say. I don't much like what I'm hearing from Rush or his accusers.

With no logical response to offer, you resort to half-witted ad hominem attacks. Yes your response was so well crafted the FR historian have noted it. Truly a incredible feat of logic repeating the same statement. I a standing in awe.

Remember Rush, if you are completely, 100 percent innocent of the publicly made allegations, don't say a word in your own defense.

BECAUSE...the case may be more complicated than this. The maid may have acquired them illegally using Rush's name without his knowledge or some other scenario. He may really not know what he is in for.

Why is that? How does a flat denial hurt an innocent man?I was with an innocent man when he went through interrogation because of a baseless claim by his wife. I told him to tell the truth and all would be well. Dumbest advice I have ever given. If I were ever asked to tell the police the truth about something, I would tell them forget it and I want a lawyer present before I think of speaking. ( I eventually got him off but only after several court appearances.)
In this case, a flat denial of what? Anything you say at this point will be disected and compared to whatever the police have. Learn what they have before you speak. I am sure that is what the lawyer has advised. In a situation like this, your only friend is your lawyer. Listen to them.

It is not a complicated case. How do you know this? Are you an intimate friend of Rush? Are you his lawyer? Do you work with Palm Beach law enforcemnt? Please enlighten us with your vast wisdom.

... call with the RADIO ON... Of course. On other shows. But I've heard it maybe once with on Limbaugh that I can recall, over the years.
Screeners? Do you know for sure? Well, maybe. He prefers, uh, used to prefer, to pontificate, so maybe one can get it done
