Rush a 'Little Frustrated' by Drug Allegations

Political commentator Rush Limbaugh (search) returned to his popular radio program Friday and said he was "frustrated" about allegations that he was involved in the sale and use of illegal drugs.

Limbaugh was back on the air one day after his name surfaced as the possible target of a criminal probe into the sale and use of illegal drugs in south Florida.

On the national program, which is carried by about 650 stations across the country, Limbaugh spoke briefly about the allegations of his drug use but avoided going into specifics. He said he was "a little frustrated" that he had not "gotten to the bottom" of what was happening.

"The story in Florida really is an emerging situation ... I don't really know the full scope of what I'm dealing with," he said. Limbaugh said he'd been humbled by all the supportive e-mails he'd received from fans, estimating he'd received about 25,000.

As for all the media stories that have emerged about the drug investigation, Limbaugh said that he was "tempted" to respond to them but "I'm not going to go there."

But he vowed to discuss the case in detail in the future.

"Rest assured, I will discuss this with you and tell you how it is ... maybe more than you really want to know about this," he said.

As you'll see, Rush MUST NOT SAY A WORD about anything substantive that occured, EVEN IF IT IS EXCULPATORY.

Oh man, this is funny stuff......

If he got hooked on a pain killer, so what. It is not good but it certainly not without precedent.

Amen

So you would assert that everyone who gets convicted is guilty?

You may be a lawyer-in-training, but I think you're just about ready for the prime time.

I asked you to back up your point, and you respond with an absurd question, which I won't dignify with an answer. If you reply, why not respond to my prior post directly?

Thanks for the advice! Tell me, where did you get your law degree? I graduated law review/ with honors from a top tier law school in 1988.

Thanks, I'll be sure to never hire you.

No offense....

Having dealt with "junkies", I do not care how "functional" a layman thinks an addict is, a minimal amount of training a person is able to readily see something is wrong. There are minimal cues that are detectible.

Once saw a judge order a pro se defendant to immediatly take a breath test or have their bond revoked.

I agree (and I'm only a 2L)

Look at my post (#127 or #130). Wouldn't you agree?

He has no credibility left.

Credibility about what?

The libertarians will support him, at least :).

Give it a rest, will ya? I'm resigned to the probability that at least some elements of the story will turn out to be true. But to say that Rush is a drug addict, and that he's 'not innocent' (aka 'guilty'), is premature, especially when we don't know exactly what he would even be guilty of.

Exactly. I am a perfect example. I was raised in an upper middle class neighborhood and started using pot in the 5th grade. I used all the way till I was 14 years old - when I got busted and thrown into treatment...I've now been sober for 16 years.

If a little grade school kid can hide drug abuse, imagine what somebody with the intellect like Limbaugh could do. I am not saying he has, I have no idea....but it is amazing how one can cover up there addiction..its also amazing how every addict hits a bottom, and how ugly that bottom is....

What if Rush was asked by law enforcement to participate in a long-running covert sting on the maid, her dealers and pushers?

Just asking.

And let me add this: If the allegations turn out to be true -- and that is a big "if" at this point in time -- don't be surprised if some his frequent absences from work had nothing do do with a planned vacation or a day of golf or a speech somewhere or his ear problems.

Rush also complained about how many pills the doctors had him taking during his hearing situation. He often talked of how people couldn't comprehend how many pills he had to take. The possibility that the accusations are more than a little merit to them are becoming more and more realistic.

And people here are crying that "Rush didn't deny it!" Fine. Deny it...30 seconds later here come the sounds bites like this.

"He is not innocent. He is a drug addict."

So you don't believe in the whole 'innocent until proven guilty' thing, huh?

"I am not the law no do I have any desire to be!"

So it sounds like your answer is no, you do not believe in the whole innocent until proven guilty thing.
