Capture of the German U-Boat U-505

Polar Bear Attacks U.S. Submarine

Daily News story photo

A polar bear chewed on the rudder of a U.S. submarine and then attacked it after the sub surfaced in the ice pack during maneuvers between the North Pole and Alaska this spring, the U.S. Navy reported last week.

The submarine "Connecticut," a new Seawolf-class sub, had partly surfaced with its sail and rudder sticking through the ice on April 27. An officer then looked around outside with the sub's periscope and noticed it was being stalked by a polar bear.

In a series of pictures captured on the periscope's camera, the bear apparently chewed on the rudder, then batted it around. The Navy says the damage was minor.

I once expressed an interest in Submarine Service, but failed the first question:
"I like to sleep with the windows open     True___  False___
"

One of my "voices" is very fond of telling me that I'm about as useful as a screen on a submarine.....

But the Packers didn't play anybody last week!

LOL! Oh, I thought they played a little too well on Monday Night after that debacle in Arizona. Guess I fell asleep on the sofa and had a beautiful dream...;-)

Good Night Blessing for the Troops
Blessings on you this evening
May the stars in heaven
light your way into the
Milky Way of dreams

May your day tomorrow
be filled with love
laughter and joy...

Taking away all heart ache
left stinging...
and unclouding your vision
for clear sailing...

*also clearing throat*

Oh, and one of these days you guys are going to have to make one of those "Canteen personnel" graphics of me wearing my Packer jersey; number 30, same as my Dad's cars during his racing days. Guess this'll have to do for now:

OOHRAH AND YA-HEY GO PACKERS!!
