If they were going to fire him, then why didn't he just let them fire him, instead of trying to clear ESPN's name?

I would have made them fire me and then taken the occasion to point out more social engineering in the NFL.

Rush did discuss the forced job interviews for black coaches on the his very first ESPN show...you must not pay attention.

And since Philadelphia is the only city with an NFL team that has an actual judge on premise at home games to instantly sentence those "drunk ass Eagles Fans" as you put it (no need to pluralize Eagle there), I don't give too much weight to those that write on message boards.

And I don't need message boards to watch McNabb fail to see open receivers.

The sports press DOES have a protective attitude toward black quarterbacks

Tell that to Kordell Stewart, Tony Blake, Rodney Pete, or Tony Blake.

The crap we have to put up with from them and what they do to our children and our Boy Scouts. It's Orwellian. Evil is good and good is evil. I feel like it's 9/11 all over agian when Rush gets attacked like this. I am sick and feel like I have been kicked in the stomach. The Dems get away with all kinds of hate speech on a daily basis. What is this!!!! What can we do?? We need a revolution!!!

Kurt Warner won the MVP. Why is he fighting for his career if stats are the determining factor?

Everyone has an opinion. Everyone is entitled to his/her opinion. Why can't Rush express his opinion? His opinion maybe stupid, but it's just that - AN OPINION. He blamed the media more than McNabb, and he is being crucified by the media which he attacked.

As Rush explained on his show today, his role on the show was to be "The Fan". He represented the fans opinion and as seen on this thread, and any sports bar, there are thousands of them ranging from informed to idiotic. So he said something "outrageous"...what did ESPN expect....or, in fact, what were they hoping for???? Ratings??? Buzz?? They have it now AND when they hired him. They knew exactly what they were getting. If he was to represent the fan, then he had full reign to say what you hear the moron sitting behind you at the game saying.

Even though you may think this is for the best, it is still a big, fat shiner in the eye of the Right.

Ditto that.

If all the praise for McNabb the last two years was deserved, then all the negative talk about starting 0-3 this year rides on McNabb also.

OK, so he IS human. He has had crap talent around him for years and managed to win. Andy Reid(coach and GM) has refused to sign even average players at WR and RB for years while letting players like Trotter, Hugh Douglas, Shawn Barber, Brian Mitchell get away in free agency. The Eagle are consistantly under the the salary cap by millions by letting team leader types go and signing cheap replacements. But I guess that is McNabb's fault? McNabb has been given lemons and has been making lemonaid for years. Now he barely even has any lemons.

And how is McNabb so great when he's rushing for more yards than their running backs?

Maybe because the Coach only called 21 rushing plays in the first two games. In Andy Reids own words - 'I'd rather throw an incomplete pass than run the ball for 1 or 2 yards'. Reid woke up out of his idiot fog and called over 20 rush plays this past week, and guess what? The Eagles won. The people on the Eagles message boards blame Reid's idiotic play calling by about a 4 to 1 margin.

Maybe if rush did a little research instead of trying to push his agenda, he'd still have a job at ESPN.

McNabb IS overrated, and will prove it. Every time the Eagles get to the playoffs, McNabb CHOKES!

This year, he didn't even wait that long.

I hope he carries the team to 1-15. I really do.

But McNabb has made it happen. He is/was in a slump.
Quarterback is a funny position. It is the most important position, or is it really? How did Kilmer get the Skins to the Super Bowl when Jurgensen couldn't. How did Joe Kapp get the Vikings there when Tarkenton hadn't been able to?

Isn't it time we grab our "free speech" back and flip the thought police off?

I can only assume that you sent out a similar e-mail defending the Dixie Chicks. Right?

How about Dusty Baker saying a few weeks ago that white people don't like hot weather the same as blacks

If Rush had made those comments he would have been fired that night. Rush's comments on Sunday were against the media's build up of DM, and cannot be construed as any way near as raciest as Dusty Bakers. The problem here is the double standard that the liberals exploit!!

Bump - McNabb is a mediocre QB - as the season continues this will become obvious as he continues to throw under, over, and yards away from his receivers - his coaches know it - that's why they won't let him run plays requiring him to pass more than ten yards - Limbaugh will be vindicated by Thanksgiving (and the Eagles stuck with McNabb's hundred million dollar contract won't be).....
