Rush never said he was overated, just that he was getting a lot of the credit that actually belonged to the defense of the Eagles.

During the break between innings of the Red Sox/A's game, ESPN just aired the Donovan McNabb Chunky Soup commercial, where he and the white guy both want to be Donovan McNabb in some video game. Interesting timing.

Why on earth he felt he had to deliver social commentary on black quarterbacks is beyond me>{?The topic was 'whats wrong with McNabb?'

And apparently in rush's eyes, what's wrong is that he is black. Because the media got the eagles to the NFC championship the past two years with sub par offensive talent. The media had McNabb scoring 23 total TDs and 6 INTs!!! last year in only 10 games. The media made McNabb score 27 total TDs and 12 INTs in 2001. And then 27 TDs and 13 INTs in 2000. WOW!!!! What a bellow average QB numbers those are. All with horrbile WRs and an average RB in Staley. Chad Lewis did make the probowl in 2001, but couldn't catch a cold in 2002 and this year so far.

Now, lets look at Aikman's number in the three years the Cowboys won the superbowl - 1992 24TDs 14INTs, 1993 15TDs 6INTs(missed 2 games), 1996 17TDs 7INTs(missed 2 games). I guess when Troy in inducted in the Hall of Fame, his speech will be an apology to Rush for being such a bad WHITE QB.

First of all, the worst thing about his comment had nothing about race, but that it was totally wrong. McNabb has no wide receivers, his best running back in the last 3 yrs was a 3rd string has-been with the Redskins, and he has an unimaginative coach who reigns him in. Despite that he has led his team to the NFL title game for the last two years. 26 other NFL QB's should be so overrated.

I saw McNabb play for 4 years in College and despite having a horrible offensive line and running backs that didn't find holes but found piles of people he was the best QB I have seen in 30 years of watching the game. IF only he had a OL that could have protected him.

Jeff Garcia stinks up the joint for three weeks, Tom Brady wins one, loses one, Warner goes south, noone cries overrated. Jay Fielder has the best running back in the last 20 yrs in his backfield and they struggle to score 10 pts and hes "valiant", "a true competitior" .McNabb has a bad streak and this crap comes up. When Elway would go to the Super Bowl and go 8-8 the next year nobody cried overrated.

I like Rush but damn that comment had no basis in fact. And he should have been smart enough not to even go there. He had a target on him the size of Texas. Now all the 7 dwarves are lining up to pile on. Now one of "Us" gave them some semi-real ammo to race-bait with.

I think some are failing to understand what happened here. The NFL didn't like what Rush said, right or wrong. You cannot have a NFL pre-game show with a guy the league despises. ESPN had no choice but to let him resign. It took Rush all of 4 weeks to play right into the libs' hands with a politicized comment. The show is about football, not the liberal media. He has 15 hours a week to discuss that.

I think Rush is eating his humble pie now. He will continue to have a successful radio show - unless it becomes a fact that he is a druggie.

Rush was defending the defense on this one. He never spoke of McNabbs performance. The issue here was that the media was giving a lot of credit for the success of the team to McNabb when Rush felt it belonged to the defense.

There are a lot of black guys on that defense he was sticking up for you know.
