Geez. The libs will be gloating for a decade.
Republicans are becoming whimpier by the day.
I give up. Rush quitting and thus acknowledging what the PC left has accused...Bush caves in to every demand of the Dems and Ted Kennedy on the left...so-called principled conservatives jump on the silly "Do Not Call" bandwagon (remember the silly cable issue with Bush 41?)...will it never end?
I no longer am going to associate with the GOP. And at this rate, I don't plan to vote in 2004. I can see no reason to any longer.
So I'm just going to live in my own world and protect my own interest and to he** with everyone else.
I can't even get optimistic enough at this point that Rush is doing this knowing it will be all over the entire press for weeks and thus take the "CIA leak" nonsense off the front pages.
This news came about midnight Eastern time...I wonder if the NY Times stopped the presses and did a front page re-write and throw away what was already printed.

Let the A**ho** quaterbacks sponsors know. That chunky soup company probably does not want to be draged into this. Hit them in the wallet. We did it to the Dixiechix, now we blitz the quarterback.

What absolute bulls***. I am stunned at how bereft of common sense this whole reaction to the Limbaugh opinion has been. Freeps that caved, you should be ashamed, DU types it was typical, style over substance emotion over reality. It was a shi**y day for freedom and free speech. God I am so tired of the race pimps and their media enablers. I'm headed for the pantry for a medicinal shot of Jack the Black...

Rush thought he could get away with saying something controversial on mainstream media. What a boneheaded mistake. Everyone knows there is a double standard that whites are not allowed to say anything about reace.

Yes, you are right. It is Bull. But it is reality. And Rush should have known!!
As far as Americans seeing through this, the 30% or so hard core conservatives will. The 30% or so hard core libs will be even more solidified in their opinion that conservatives are racists at heart. And the other 40% or so? They are the sheeple. They are easily led and are led mainly by the liberal media.

Has Senator Robert Byrd resigned yet for calling a man a "white nigger" on national television?
I didn't think so. Rush should spend time on his show soon with nothing but about 30 minutes of that racist Byrd's sound clip.

This is probably best. Limbaugh doesn't need a long drawn out distraction about this garbage in the media. Garbage or not, Rush put the .45 to his head and pulled the trigger. He has no one to blame but himself.
Even though you may think this is for the best, it is still a big, fat shiner in the eye of the Right.

And Berman's a democrat? So disappointing. Chris Berman's a 'RAT? How do you know for sure? That's it for me, then... no more "Primetime" on Sunday nights (IF he's a DemocRAT)!

His enemies want him to fight it. He can't win it. Yeah, that's fortitude for ya. And to think how many times he called RHINO's lilly livered.
To: ladyinred
Yeah. It's just hard to imagine Rush leaving without a fight. It seems nowadays only the liberals have freedom of speech. I'm wondering if all the people who defended the Dixie Chicks right to free speech will be out defending Rush?

IT WASN'T obvious till the SMEAR MACHINE got in gear ...Yes, but very predictable that it would. I remember sitting there watching the show with my wife. When I heard his remark I turned to my wife and said "Rush is finished on this show". I knew the libs would run with it.

Rush thought he could get away with saying something controversial on mainstream media. The operation to smear him didn't commence til TUESDAY of this week - WASN'T MUCH OF A STATEMENT if it took SEVERAL DAYS for them to GET INFLAMED.
It took CONSCIOUS EFFORT to become this 'outraged'.

I agree with Rush's initial statement
That said, It is obvious to me the Left, sensing that they are REALLY LOSING, are doing everything they can to start a race war in this country
Much as I hate to say it, I believe in the next 10 - 20 years we will have a race war worse than that in "The Turner Diaries" live and in person in this country, and we wont be able to stop it.
