Name one thing Arnold has said bad about McClintock. All he has said, EVER, is that he respects him and looks forward to working with him.
McClintock about Arnold on the other hand...

Kinda blows up alot of theories propagated around here, doesn't it...
To: evilsmoker
Why did McClintock not run as an independent? Better yet, I wish Arnold had gone the independant route, because he would still be beating McClintock badly, and possibly beating Bustamante by even more.

McClintock's already said he isn't going to propose anything new on abortion if he's elected, so by your own logic, McClintock's bad too, correct?
To: Hillary's Lovely Legs
I'm a conservative, so I've supported McClintock all along. However, this shouldn't be a big blow to him. This is fair and it should be what he expected.
It's a few days before the election, he's been given time, and his upward momentum flattened out, and he didn't make it.
Bottom line. Arnold's numbers are far ahead.
If this is a surprise, then Mac is slow and shouldn't have been my selection in the first place.

What is wrong with someone who wants to play golf joining a Country club -- are you against successful Republicans? BTW, does McC belong to a Country club in Sacramento or Thousand Oaks? A lot of the politicians do! Just asking!

I think saying that they'd "proudly" stay home is not accurate and a bit dramatic.
The Arnold camp needs to seriously think about the arrogance it has displayed when dealing with McClintock supporters.
NO effort has been made to come closer to the right on at least a few issues to bring them in.
Compromise would have gone a long way, but that's not what they wanted. They wanted capitulation and wouldn't be happy without it.
Everyone has a line that they won't let someone else cross.

In the last few weeks, discerning Republicans have come to realize that a formula for ensuring victory in the recall election is at hand. With Tom McClintock and Arnold Schwarzenegger, they have two men with albeit different qualities who clearly can lead California. So anotherwords Tom has finally figured out that Schwarzenegger is better than Bustamante. Here's a news flash for you Tom, principled men don't let misleading lies stand unchallenged for weeks because it suits their purposes.
We knew Schwarzenegger was better than Cruz from the get-go. You and your supporter's credibility would have been served much better if you folks would have faced that reality along with everyone else.
Standing on principle does not have to mean locking away votes that could have gone to a man that is much better than the likes of Bustamante.

I was born in California and lived here my entire life. I can say I vote with a clear conscience and actually vote for somebody and not against somebody. That said, McClintock will get my vote.

I think you have me confused with another poster, I wrote that I loved being an observer on these threads to Hillary's Lovely Legs.
So, you must have been a bit startled by my "reply" to your non-existent statement.
You are correct, I was trying to reply to the post above yours.

Jonah 3
[1] And the word of the LORD came unto Jonah the second time, saying,
[2] Arise, go unto Nineveh, that great city, and preach unto it the preaching that I bid thee.
[3] So Jonah arose, and went unto Nineveh, according to the word of the LORD. Now Nineveh was an exceeding great city of three days' journey.
[4] And Jonah began to enter into the city a day's journey, and he cried, and said, Yet forty days, and Nineveh shall be overthrown.
[5] So the people of Nineveh believed God, and proclaimed a fast, and put on sackcloth, from the greatest of them even to the least of them.
[6] For word came unto the king of Nineveh, and he arose from his throne, and he laid his robe from him, and covered him with sackcloth, and sat in ashes.
[7] And he caused it to be proclaimed and published through Nineveh by the decree of the king and his nobles, saying, Let neither man nor beast, herd nor flock, taste any thing: let them not feed, nor drink water:
[8] But let man and beast be covered with sackcloth, and cry mightily unto God: yea, let them turn every one from his evil way, and from the violence that is in their hands.
[9] Who can tell if God will turn and repent, and turn away from his fierce anger, that we perish not?
[10] And God saw their works, that they turned from their evil way; and God repented of the evil, that he had said that he would do unto them; and he did it not.
Jonah 4
[1] But it displeased Jonah exceedingly, and he was very angry.
[2] And he prayed unto the LORD, and said, I pray thee, O LORD, was not this my saying, when I was yet in my country? Therefore I fled before unto Tarshish: for I knew that thou art a gracious God, and merciful, slow to anger, and of great kindness, and repentest thee of the evil.
[3] Therefore now, O LORD, take, I beseech thee, my life from me; for it is better for me to die than to live.
[4] Then said the LORD, Doest thou well to be angry?
[5] So Jonah went out of the city, and sat on the east side of the city, and there made him a booth, and sat under it in the shadow, till he might see what would become of the city.
[6] And the LORD God prepared a gourd, and made it to come up over Jonah, that it might be a shadow over his head, to deliver him from his grief. So Jonah was exceeding glad of the gourd.
[7] But God prepared a worm when the morning rose the next day, and it smote the gourd that it withered.
[8] And it came to pass, when the sun did arise, that God prepared a vehement east wind; and the sun beat upon the head of Jonah, that he fainted, and wished in himself to die, and said, It is better for me to die than to live.
[9] And God said to Jonah, Doest thou well to be angry for the gourd? And he said, I do well to be angry, even unto death.
[10] Then said the LORD, Thou hast had pity on the gourd, for the which thou hast not laboured, neither madest it grow; which came up in a night, and perished in a night:
[11] And should not I spare Nineveh, that great city, wherein are more than sixscore thousand persons that cannot discern between their right hand and their left hand; and also much cattle?

How certain are we about the rumors? We really need to find links before speculating about the Hitler admiration further...As far as I know, they're just rumors. I visited so many sites last night I don't recall which one claimed the Hitler rumor. It was on a blog. It was quite an interesting entry. Apparently, it was during the filming of one of his movies and said on camera. If it exists, the Dems will show it.
There is so much floating around out there. Drudge had a black guy on last night who did body building with Arnold in the 70s. He had some interesting stories to tell, particularly in regards to a black female bodybuilder who was not treated well by Arnold. I never gave all this much thought before because there was nothing solid, but Arnold's commericals attacking Indian gaming have a subtle element of racism to me. If Davis can connect all these dots it could get really ugly.

Successful business leaders are members of country clubs. Now on Free Republic there are a number of folks who damn us for sounding like democrats because we face reality, while they demagogue people who have been a success in the capitalist system. Reality is turned on it's head when people sell out everything they believe in to support a man who cannot possibly win this race. Who of them in their right mind would desire a Bustamante victory, yet this is exactly what they chance facilitating. Lordy!
To: Hillary's Lovely Legs
wow. really big surprise. If Hillary Clinton ran as a Rupublican, California Republicans would endorse her. All they look for is who is leading in the polls, not whpo is qualified to fix the damn problems. a(R)nold will be Californias version of Jesse Ventura!

Being accussed of being something less than human for belonging to a country club is a low blowIt's a figure of speech. You can belong to a country club and not be a country club Republican and vice versa.
