Notice how she never goes after McLintock even on prop54. Shes got an agenda against Arnie. What a ho

I noticed that too. Perhaps she was licking her wounds.

He can serve out Davis' term, then be elected twice more. 11 year term.

Both CNN and FOX delaring McClintok winner........

Personally I think it will garner mere sidebar coverage, mentioning it on the morning show, but I cannot imagine Judy Woodruff salivating at the prospect McClintock leading in a overnight push poll.

Cruz shot himself in the foot tonight."We spent too much."That's a vote getter. He seemed insane to me. What was insane is when he followed it up with "I want to raise taxes." Truely insane.

That I'm the quintessential studmuffin...

Strike that...wrong thread...

McClintock rocked, Arnold had some great zingers for HuffingPuffington, and that she should be deported immediately.

Yes, but not particularly original. Bill Simon used that line. And Perot back in the day. ;-)

The Mondull strategery. We saw how well that one worked in '84. What is it with liberals and spending and raising taxes us lesser mortals will never understand!

"I don't have clue what clintons underwear on MTV means to you."

Thats what got the attention of the MTV voter. Just like Arnold's movies are motivating these new voters. Nothing to do with policy or substance, just star struck stupid asses.

So I am to assume, that you and many others are not voting based on policy but instead charm? Good luck to you all in Cali.

BTW - since you brought up guns. Where does Arnold stand? TMAc seemed to be pretty clear in his closing remarks.

Is that the law in California? I could almost swear I remember elected officials resigning for various reasons. Nixon resigned, right?

One of the best indicators I have had about the union supporting someone and the members not voting the same way was here in Oklahoma in our Right to Work campaign. The princincts around the GM plant which were heavily union voted to support Right to Work even though the union had signs out everywhere to vote NO! The workers, themselves, voted yes overwhelmingly in those precincts.

Taught me a lesson to ignore what the union leaders are saying and concentrate on individual union members in those precincts.

Same thing happened in our Congressional election in 2002 -- lots of signs out for the RAT opponent in those precincts but they voted for the Republican. In fact those same precincts are represented in the OK House by a Republican!

Union members should never be written off as automatically voting DemocRAT! Their leaders yes, but not the rank and file!

McClintock won on substance going away and came across as a serious man though not terribly dynamic.

Arnold has what it takes to get elected, charisma not gravitas, and proved to me that he is smart enough to get elected. I have my doubts on what he will do once elected but he erased the doubts I had about his capability. Light on specifics but enough to impress the average viewer.

Camejo, though a commie, is a smart guy and presents his case well but needless to say I'll never be buying what he's selling.

Cruz Bustamente came across like Dubya's Dad in his re-elect beating by Klink, allof, unengaged and above it all. He didn't help himself but his "We Spent Too Much" comment sealed the deal on Gray being dumped IMHO.

Arianna was a joke and should nopt have been on the dais.

Conclusions:

McClintock is in it to win it and isn't getting out but he was soft on AS last night, he had opportunities to rip him and he passed them by. Perhaps a republican that takes RR entreaties about other republicans to heart?

Cruz ain't gonna beat AS, McClintock or no McClintock.

My wife, who is quite non-political, walked into the room where I was watching the debate and asked, "Why are you watching this? This is about California." I answered that its interesting. So, she sat down and watched it with me. She asked, "Who is that?" I answered, "His name is Tom McClintock. He is polling third in this race." She watched it for another 45 minutes. Towards the end of the debate my wife stated, "Well, I'd vote for that McClintock guy. He makes me want to stand up and clap for him!"

My wife may not be a political junkie like me, but she has a great deal of common sense. I'm hoping that Californians are somewhat the same.

I cannot even count the number of times that the other candidates agreed with McClintock.

Camejo: I agree with Tom that the car tax should be eliminated...

Huffington: With Tom you know where he stands...

Cruz: I agree with Tom the we shouldn't have raided the property tax funds...

Arnold: Stated that he agreed with Tom on at least three issues (that I counted)

If I were a McClintock stategist, I'd string these six or seven sound bites from the debate together for a TV commercial. At the end of it, there would be a voiceover, "They all agree with Tom, shouldn't you? Vote McClintock."

I am the only candidate at this table who has signed a no-tax pledge. I am the only candidate at this table who supports Proposition 54 to stop the government from racially classifying every one of us. I'm the only candidate at this table that supports the California Republican Assembly's referendum to stop the bill that gives driver's licenses to illegal immigrants. I'm the only candidate at this table who's pro life. I'm the only candidate who supports the entire Bill of Rights, including our Second Amendment. And I'm the only candidate who for 20 years in the public arena has proposed and fought for precisely those fiscal forms that are desperately needed to straighten out this state's finances. Now, we over the years have always been disappointed by politicians who make a promise and don't carry through on it. We've seen a lot of campaign promises made and broken just in the span of this very brief campaign. There's one thing friend and foe alike agrees about Tom McClintock, and that is when I make a promise, I keep it. I steer a straight course and I stay that course no matter what the pressure. And here's my commitment to the people of California: I will cut spending and balance this budget without a tax increase, and that is a promise.

Arianna is trying to make news and draw a conclusion whos facts are not in evidence. Arnold at one time spoke of a fight scene that he thought might be good cinema where he holds a womans head in a toilet. She is wanting us to believe that a passing reference he made in a promotional interview months and months ago can now be directly linked to the amorphous statement about hainvg a part for her in T4. Typical politics, draw several disconnected statements together to make a sensational claim. I think he was just saying she makes a great villian.
