Yes, I think he spoke of how it should be--I sometimes am in awe of the ability of some people to forget something that horrific. Not only forget about it, but lie about it too. What a disgrace.

I watched the speech on Fox. In his address today, President Bush exceeded the excellence of his address to the U N General Assembly last year.

"All governments that support terror are complicit in the war on civilization..." does that include the UN? This speech is Bush telling the UN how WE are doing THEIR job. The underlying point is that if they want their relevence back, they had better get on board.

After listening to President Bush give a speech in his direct and clear manner, the words of those following him sound like gibberish. Congrats to our President on an outstanding speech.

I thought the same thing about this speech -- in fact, it is one of the best speeches that I have heard him give! Pres Bush's demeanor was calm, cool, and collected while being decisive in what he had to say. He left no doubt in anyone's mind what he was saying! If I were France, Germany, China, and Russia, I would have been sinking way down in my chair for part of the speech!

Didn't intend the double post. Spotted a typo and tried to correct before it posted.

That is exactly how I took from the speech as well -- if the UN wants to be relevant they had better do something about rogue states and always debating something to death and either taking no action or taking action late!

I watched and it was the best I have seen him give in a long time.

Oh-oh...Kennedy on the floor of the Senate now attacking Bush.

Sir, I will crawl to New York if I have to in order to wave bye bye as the boats sail away (who was that great American that said that????).

No, I don't expect the hatred to stop based on a speech. But how do you expect the UN to go away, by ignoring it? Then you miss the point of the speech. He is calling then out to engage or get out of the way. I see this as a positive step towards the end of the UN as we know it.

I expect the Syrians to start (?) shovelling money towards the RATs as fast as they can because when GWB is re-elected, their time is up.

Now the buffoon, Sen Kennedy, is giving his reaction to the President's speech at the United Nations. I detest that man more by the day, and I didn't think that was possible. He has remarks he is reading from the podium. I refuse to listen and have been waiting for Fox to tell me what he is saying!

This is contemptible -- no wonder terrorist think they can attack the US and get by with it when we have morons like this in the United States Senate!

Did you guys catch the clip Rush just played of Peter Jennnings, after the President's speech? As Bush was getting a unanimous applause from the members, Jennings had to comment: "we really shouldn't gage anything by the applause." What a piece of sh**.

...The founding documents of the United Nations and the founding documents of America stand in the same tradition...

They couldn't be more at odds.
What a pile.

The primary goal of our coalition in Iraq is self-government for the people of Iraq, reached by orderly and democratic means.

What is it about democracy that the Democrats oppose?

The Democrats have their eye on the prize. President Bush has his eye on the ball, and he alone, it seems, is committed to winning the war on terror.

The UN talks about human rights and providing relief to human suffering. George W. Bush and the United States actually DO something to enhance human rights and provide relief for suffering.

LOL! Can't tell you much since I turned him off. He was whining about not going it alone, blah, blah, blah. Hopefully, others can give you more info.

I agree with you and thought this was the best I have seen him in a long time.

Cannot believe Kennedy -- only minutes after the speech he is trashing! Disgusting behavior on the part of a United States Senator!

I'm curious...What proportion of the UN General Assembly is made up of rogue states? I mean, we talk about the traditions of our free nation, and the importance of spreading democracy throughout the world, and yet what percentage of the nations in the UN aren't democratic? Just curious.

It is obvious that the DemocRATs want the US effort in Iraq to fail, and I sincerely hope that the American voters remember that in Nov 2004!

Wonder if any country is going to take him up on the request for more funds to stabilize Iraq and give them democracy? Seems a lot of countries don't want a free Iraq which makes me wonder why.
