...got any pet peeves?....um, don't know!....I got a pet rock....... ................huh?.....noooo!...pet PEEVES!.... .....look it up!...where???.....in TomKow's Treasury of KNowledge??? Noooooooooooooooo!!!!.......YES!...
pet peeve (plural pet peeves)
noun
particular personal complaint: somebodys constant issue or topic of complaint Got any PET PEEVES??? I got a few!! People who let you embarrass yourself and don't tell you. Like, when your zipper is undone, or you've got unsightly food on your teeth, or you're trailing a wad of toilet paper on your shoe...and people think they're being polite by not saying anything. People who push all the buttons on the elevator Will it make the thing come any faster? No..... Grocery Cart Wheels It seems like every time I get a cart, it goes screwy on me. Maybe I should invent some neologisms to describe all the ways the wheels can get out of whack. Like that bizarrely violent shimmying the front left wheel sometimes adopts, where, if it were a living, breathing creature, you'd most likely rush it to the hospital? Or what about the wheel that decides it hit a speck of dirt and so can go no further. Easier to drag a spooked horse into a trailer than to get that sucker around the aisle. Then there are the ones that simply decide they are not wheels after all but compasses, and refuse henceforth to go any direction except north? And nothing short of crashing into the wall will dissuade them from their path.... When the Express Lane doesn't mean Express Your at the "Express" cash (10 items or less) and the twit in front has a year's worth of groceries and the dodo cashier doesn't say anything. Bad HAIR day? People's comments when you're at someone else's desk "Oh Gee Sally - nice moustache." "Sally - you're not looking yourself today." "Wow Sally, you look alot like Bob today." !@#$!@#$$%#$%....ok ok I'm better now...SMILE Old-boaters 1959 Cadillac Eldorado Biarritz. Need I go on? Ok - you've seen them all over the place. They come from Florida and drive an old car that gets near-zero gas mileage, has jelly-suspension, and fins. The driver is typically octagenarian and tends to weave a lot. Except that from behind you can't even see if there's a driver. They should have a bumper sticker on the back that's just a steering wheel with a pair of knuckles and a hat. Welcome to Camp RUN-A-MUK!

Honda says hi to Run-a-muck!
Honda is now running up and downing the hallways meowing at nothing and sliding on the carpet and crashing.
I love him, but he can be kinda stupid at times.
To: minor49er
Run-a-muck is sleeping in my lap right now
He did his running around about an hour ago.
Hope the hurricane has gone past you.

Hey guys just wanted to update you real quick, we evaced from VA Beach Tues night and hightailed it south to my friend's parents house in Melbourne FL. Good thing we did too cause on Wed we learned that where we live, VA Beach, was mando evaced. We're doing ok here, kids are loving it here and if all goes well we'll even be able to visit my sister whom I haven't seen since I was nursing my now-4 yr old son *L*
A friend of ours who stayed behind will be driving to mine and my friend's house tonight to give us a status report. We're waiting on that and the reopening of the Chesapeake Bay Tunnel in order to make plans to head home. Hubby is, of course, a few hundred feet underwater somewhere as of Tues afternoon, as they sent out the entire Atlantic fleet.
I'll update again as soon as I hear the status of our house. Just wanted to let everyone here know that me and the kids got out ok and we're doing fine.
Stay safe everyone!

F-I-L Update: The old guy came out of the hospital at 11:30, and was home by noon! Immediately wolfed down two chicken sandwiches, and went to bed.
Great news!!! Thank you for the update. (It's wonderful when we get to lift prayers of praise along with our emergency back-up prayers of ongoing concern!)

Severa, I was on the phone with
MoJo as you posted. She wants you to have these updates.......
All bridges and tunnels are OPEN, with the exception of the mid town tunnel. It is flooded and won't be open for two weeks.
Over 140,000 folks in Virginia Beach are without power.
Ships will start coming home tomorrow
Weather conditions are good.
"They" are worried about flooding coming from the mountains this weekend.
She has been working all day cleaning up and they are less than half done. Their house had no damage, only trees down. They are getting ready now for a neighborhood grilling dinner. She has no idea when the power will be back on.

Thank you for the update! More prayers answered!!! Enjoy your visit and have a safe trip home. (It's great knowing the important "stuff" is safe, but more prayers lifted that your home made it through the storm okay.)

Yep. We got tree branches and leaves all over the place, but other than that everything is just like it was before the hurricane.
And I can now honestly, with a strait face say that I have slept through a hurricane. LOL!!
