This might be VERY valuable to JR and FR.

Libel, slander, unproveable accusations, etc., are all MUCH worse from a legal standpoint when they are done by a government agency and/or under color of governmental authority, as this was.

I passed the CA bar years ago, but am not licensed as lawyer there (or anywhere.)

JR should have a little fireside chat with a lawyer right now. Seriously, a call to the ACLU might be in order. (I know, gag, gag, gag.) But I do know cases where they have taken on liberals in such an outrageous case as this.

As we often said in young reporters; If you report something that you can't prove in court, you may be summoned to do just that!!!

About a dozen people met at Shaw and Blackstone avenues Friday. They listened to country music, waved American flags and held signs asking drivers to honk their horns if they support U.S. soldiers.

Oh yeah. That's so hateful. And they were "armed" with American flags. I hope Mayor Autry is successful in his attempt to suspend the Human Relations Commission. They seem to be the "Hate Group."

Freerepublic members are anti-gay, anti-immigrant, anti-peace and justice, and anti-environmental. These are the people who organize counter-protests throughout the country to many progressive causes, including anti-war protests of the past two years.

I personally don't enjoy the libelous statements by this jerk. Apparently if one has different view points (often times more traditional and rational viewpoints) on an issue, they are anti-XXXXX. I am not anti-gay, though I do not believe gay people should have the right to marry. I am certainly not anti-immigrant, though I am anti-illegal immigrant. I am all for peace and justice for all. Anti-environment? I am for our environment, and more than likely I have spent much more time in the outdoors than this loser. I also have common sense when it comes to the environment, something this guy is lacking. The truth is that for years the subversive and leftist elements in the country had a monopoly on boycotts and protests. They loathe the fact that ordinary, hardworking and taxpaying Americans dare to organize events and dare to stand up to the granola element. Too bad.

If this were somehow an isolated, quirky incident, it would be best to let it go. It is not. Witness the fact that HUNDREDS of college and univeristy campuses now have codefied "speech codes", meant for the most part to prevent criticism of the academic establishment, and to limit political diversity.... in otherwords, no conservative political "hate speech" will be allowed. This is an incrimental process, and is clearly being implemented step-by-step. Within a short time, you will see Stalin-like show trials of those daring to violate "speech codes". What then? Imprisonment for being too "far right"? Then what? The shadow of Fascism is slowly and thoroughly falling across the land, and it is time we recognised it for what it is.

Quite seriously, this is a prime example of why liberals are dangerous. I suppose it's lost on them that far less police presence is needed when conservatives gather than when liberals do. When liberals congregate publicly, the police need riot gear.
