WHY wasn't this guy working on a DESCRIPTION for the police while he waited for the bomb squad if he was actually kidnapped for this robbery ... things went *slightly* awry after the robbery when he was actually caught - something a man with a mind in a rational state would have thought about, but, this guy *wasn't* rational (the 'bad guys' often aren't).

That's probably *your* biggest error in appraising this situation ...

I don't think he was really ever robbing the bank. He was getting media attention and into the news cycle for terrorism purposes. Look for the next one to be forced to board a crowded bus like in Israel. The bank was just an announcement.

My latest tin foil scenario involves these "flash mobs" I've been reading about.

The mobs that get an email or page, then quickly assemble at a certain point, do something wacky and then break up and go about their business.

Everybody participating sees it as an "innocent, fun" type of thing.

But I think these kind of "mobs" could be maniuplated by terrorists to have a ready made target or as a distraction.

Where do any of the reports say that he didn't provide a description? The press will hold details if asked by the investigators to do so. The details of the bomb were held for several days.

The police seemed to have gotten away from this man when they realized there was likely a live bomb attached to his neck. CYA- Cover Your Ass. CYA part 2 is to make the paperwork show that you did nothing wrong (let the papertrail end with this patsy).

But Jim, this involved machine shop skills, tool steel, cutting bits, a bridgeport mill, welding equipment, and many other skills and devices that are not common on the list of professional skills of pizza delivery guys. If they were, he wouldn't be delivering pizza's for a way to pay the bills.

But those skills and trades are not something you learn about in academia.

About the only conclusion I can come to thus far is that it almost certainly was not done by the pizza guy. At least not by himself. That item looks like it took significant time, effort and money to design and implement.

Simple. The police were only willing to get within shouting distance. All the guy could do is shout such things as "Why isn't anybody coming to get this off me?"
