The Federal Court cannot make laws...only enforce lawsIn theory. In practice precedents are set which have the power of law.

When the Ten commandments were issued, their faith (judaism) demanded animal sacrifice. The God of the Ten commandments demanded human sacrifice from Abraham.

I note though I have posted it on proably 4 threads, not one of the anti-Moore cabal members has disputed what I have in post 266. Not even a peep about of these folks.

"Some animal sacrifice practices would violate animal cruelty laws in many areas."
Some might. However, there have been a number of court cases involving the Santeria religion, where sacrificing animals is part of their practice. They have won each case.
As part of their worship, they may kill chickens or goats or whatever they wish.
In my little community, the sheriff was called to the house of a family of Filipinos who killed and slaughtered a goat for a barbeque that day. The Sheriff came (in fact, six cars came), but they couldn't arrest anyone. You see, it is not against the law to kill an animal for food. There was a lawyer in that family, and he sent the Sheriff's deputies away and they had their barbeque.
Much less is it against the law to kill an animal as a part of a worship service. Judaism used to conduct animal sacrifices as part of their worship. Do you condemn that practise?
Animals may be sacrificed in worship services. It's the law.

A monument is not an "establishment" of religion.
Anyone that reads that into it is, well, a moron.

Yep, then Christ came and fullfilled the law. The New Testament Christian does not need to sacrifice animals because Christ was the sacrifice.
The Perfect sacrifice.

They fear religion because they...want to remove whatever might stand in judgement or accountability over them. exactly.
they fear the rack.
please put away your rack, nice mr. religion man.

This shows your IGNORANCE of the story of Abraham.
Atheists should not try and figure the bible out, it probably makes your head hurt. . . .

"Muhammad Ali went to Jail: Was it religion protected?
Animals have rights on our country so people are not allowed to do whatever they please to an animal."
Believers in pacifist religions are allowed to claim a status that keeps them out of combat. Muhammad Ali refused the draft, breaking the law. His jail time had nothing to do with his religion, since the Muslim faith does not prohibit military service. His was an act of civil disobedience, and he paid the price for that. So did many others who refused the draft.
As for your animal business, I guarantee you that you can kill an animal as part of your worship service, if that is your desire. There are no laws to prevent that which will stand up in court, any more than there are laws to prevent you from killing an animal that is your property in order to eat it.

If you'll skinny it down, drop the footnotes and bibliography, you might get some additional interest.

Dude, I'm just expressing my opinion. I have nothing whatever to do with this case in Alabama. I can't control your life, nor do I have any desire to do so. I can, however, express my opinion.

What's tinfoil got to do with anything?
I have noticed a trend for the main Moore bashers to be Catholic or Orthodox and some Jews(but I'm leaving them out of it)...that is simply an observation on my part.
I don't wear hats but if I did ,it would be a a Kangol beret..in black....and not worn backasswards.

In other words, you want me to weaken my case to make your pathetic one look better.
Sorry, not gonna happen....

The God of the Ten commandments demanded human sacrifice from Abraham. That's bull crap...Human sacrifice is an abomination to God..Issac was being offered up only as a test. Abraham (Abram) Had to be stopped by an angel sent by God, then a Ram ws put in Issacs place...

I'm not sure that "uneasy with evangelicals" is exactly the term that would apply to how I am about it - I'm generally OK with evangelicals up until government starts getting mixed in. Of course, to be fair, I've known Orthodox that you don't want to get mixed up in with government, either, and who would be ethnic versions of Roy Moore, just doing it a little differently.
It may just be that I'm simply leery of the overly dogmatic.
As for polls, hopefully the GOP won't take much of a hit from this, and if Riley can get off his pro-tax bandwagon, everything will be OK.
