I have never posted before so have mercy on me. Cleveland Plain Dealer reports the following:
A part-time church janitor suspects men beat him because the pastor preached against homosexuality, police said yesterday.
Richard Bilski, 49, of Sheffield Lake, told police that the unidentified men assaulted him Sunday morning outside the non-denominational Church on the Rise after demanding to know when Pastor Paul Endrei would arrive.
Bilski said the men then fled, one yelling, "This is a message for Pastor Paul."
Capt. Guy Turner said police have no way of knowing the motive for the attack, but Bilski and Endrei said they believe the men were retaliating for an August 10 sermon in which the pastor called homosexuality a sin.
Endrei said in a telephone interview that he preached about the Rev. Gene Robinson, who became the first openly gay Episcopalian confirmed as a bishop.
"I told the congregation, "The Gospel according to Gene Robinson is not the Gospel of Jesus Christ," he said. The point of the sermon was that "we love the homosexual, but we hate the sin."
Buck Harris, a former host of a gay-themed radio talk show said sermons such as Endrei's can fuel hate crimes.
"If they don't preach tolerance, they are preaching violence," Harris said.

The reason I wanted to post this item (I apologize to everyone that I did not have a proper link) was because I knew we were heading down this road and it is very frightening to me. To think that a preacher could be in jeopardy for preaching what the Bible teaches us should give us all pause to consider the ramifications of where this could lead.
However, I consider the word "fag" a vulgarity and I try to maintain a higher standard in my communications. I believe we are to love people and speak the truth in love, as the Scriptures teach us. Please try and be a little kinder dear sir/madam.

I'm not sure this incident passes the smell test. Although gay militants have engaged in disruptive acts and acts of vandalism against church property, I'm not aware they have crossed the line into acts of physical violence against persons. Gays are normally well aware of how things will play in the press, and beating up a janitor will not play well. So I'm not quite ready to believe this incident happened as described.

I personally believe someone IS setting up Pastor Endrei, but I have nothing to support that other than gut feeling.

I gather from this "this is a message FOR Pastor Paul" that it was a beating AGAINST the church's stance against homosexuality. Why does the janitor have to be a homosexual? Couldn't pro-homosexual goons have done the attack and just attacked the first man they found on site?
There was another thread where a Texas Episcopalian church was set fire (with lighter fluid) and reportedly some prohomsexual graffitti was found (something along the lines of "Jesus loves homosexuals").

Surely if this was a homosexual beating this would have made national media? Without a doubt.
I will speculate that progressive brownshirts are behind this beating.

I agree that it seems as if something was "off" but then again, our paper here in Cleveland is filled with typos and I wouldn't necessarily assume that anything in quotation marks is the actual quote. People screw up all the time. But I do know that this church would not equivocate and Pastor Endrei would not be soft on this matter. It is not my church but it is well known in the community and many local celebrities attend there.

GAY JANITOR BEATEN. . . .
Is the job description for a gay janitor different than a job description for a janitor? Seriously.
On being kinder. When the gays and their advocates in the mainstream denounce the torture and murder of children by gays with the same intensity of the Shepard case then allegations that a gay was a victim of "hate" will move me.
For example, the case of 13-year-old Jesse Dirkhising was ignored by the mainstream even to the extent that complaints to the Washington Post's ombudsman were answered claiming that there "was nothing to learn from the case." It wasn't news. It didn't happen in the D.C area. Neither did the Shepard murder.
But a google of the Washington Post site for Shepard, shepard site:www.washingtonpost.com, got 74 hits. The same search for Dirkhising, Dirkhising site:www.washingtonpost.com, got zero hits.

At that point, Bilski said, one man berated him with obscenities and another struck him in the face with a tennis racket. What sort of redneck would use a tennis racket to beat someone up? Perhaps this is a sign of the brownshirts' sexual proclivities...

Gays who are older and more "in the system" understand the power of perception and the press. But the newest gays - those under 18 - have the same behavioral problems as other sexually precocious juvenile males. The more sexually active teenaged boys are, the more likely they are to be involved with drugs, alcohol, or other illegal activities. Hence, you basically have gangstas, thugs, and other delinquents, but they're also gay.
Juvenile delinquents and young criminal males might not be the population the gay community was hoping would jump on the band-wagon, but not all gays are sweet, shy choir boys. Now the gay community have to deal with it...

They become more brazen by the day.
The coming backlash will be amusing to watch.
To: Paved Paradise
The janitor is NOT gay. They beat him because they couldn't find the pastor and they wanted to take it out on someone.
They gays on the west side feel that they own the world.
To: PeterPrinciple
And I guess the two guys that beat up the janitor were just living examples of 'tolerance'.

The "guys" that beat the janitor were militant gays. You can bet on it.

I think it goes beyond that. We're headed toward 'anything short of open endorsement' is hatred. Neutral acknowledgment of homosexuality is not even strong enough for this agenda.
Soon, following that line of 'reasoning', the practice of heterosexuality could be seen as hatred because it rejects homosexuality by definition. Scary stuff.
To: Paved Paradise
"If they don't preach tolerance, they are preaching violence," Harris said. What a disgusting sentiment. "Embrace my perversion, or I'm justified in beating the crap out of you." We see who the real intolerant bunch is here.
To: Paved Paradise
Looks like the gays and their supporters are getting rather violent, like
this recent attack on a Kenyan bishop.

I didn't drag anyone through the mud buddy. But I'm surprised that Mr. Bilski wasn't quoted as saying that he is not gay. Maybe he still is and has a family. I'm not judging HIM. I'm just saying that the spin on this is that a preacher is inciting "hate."

Good point.
