Hannity station went dead for about 20 seconds. Said he had never seen anything like it.

I was a little bugger during the big blackout in the 60's. Thought it was all my fault. I was fiddling with the forbidden television knobs when everything went dark. Please don't tell my mother.
Golly, it's a good thing you didn't know anything about psychology, or you would have been maimed for life! ;)

The shots of thousands fleeing NYC is chilling, almost biblical.

Now saying people are panicking in NYC.This makes me glad I live in Texas, where I could rapidly get some distance between myself and my neighbors.

Still hearing conflicting reports of cause. Some NY officials say they don't have a clue what caused this......
To: Beach_Babe
Bloomberg just said on CNN that ConEd automatically shut down, when there is some problem and that's what happened, i.e. it shut down. But they didn't say what is original cause.
They don't know when power will be turned back on.

I believe I've read that it takes power to start a cold nuke, which seems rather ironic. However, I think all nukes have diesel generators for just such an occurrence.

I saw that, shots of the bridges with people streaming across, from a distance reminds me of 9/11 in sheer volume of people...well, except for the fact that people are moving across in BOTH directions.

Just reporting what the radio announcer said, they said their reporter got cut off because of the supposed panic. People on the scene definitely would be able to give a better report, but with the power down that is difficult for most to do.

WMAL: Businesses in NYC have closed down because cash registers are electronic, and credit card purchases cannot be approved without electricity.

Cavuto on Fox News just said that this is "not terrorist related." THEY always say that!

ABC is dead in New York. ABCNEWS is broadcasting live out of Washington.
Nice going, ABC numbnuts.
