Well there's a beautiful little coal-fired plant in Clearfield PA that has kept my lights on all night, even while surrounding counties were sputtering and failing.

Who the hell would pay $175 for water after only 7 hours?.......jeeze.

Someone whose first spoon was silver and whose first car was a limosine.

Niagara Falls! Slowly I turned...step by step...inch by inch...

I think I have a pretty good sense of humor, but for the life of me I have never understood that one. Can you help?

Yup, it's the whole Red Zone/Blue Zone thing. Jenny knows that most of us in western Michigan didn't pull the lever for her.

We have a pair of blackstart generators driven by jet engines in Eddystone. No matter what happens, we can cut the breakers and fire those babys up, and the other turbines are spinning again in no time. For the life of me I don't understand why they don't have them in NYC so the city can get its substations up to provide its own power in a pinch.

Those people just never miss an opportunity, do they? I wish it would turn out to be Canada's fault..then what will they say? Chirac blamed it on us so I'd like to see that little pinhead proven wrong, too. As far as Richardson goes, everytime something goes wrong, he's got his face on TV to blame Bush in the first 15 minutes and has to tell us how hard the clinton administration worked to avoid it, whatever it is. Just sickening.

We are good near Pittsburgh too...just keeping my fingers crossed that it doesn't 'roll' our way. But...we have had ice storms and been w/o power for a day of so...we have had practice...

Nah, she was close to tears because she's realizing she really doesn't have the balls to be governor.

I think I could make it about 3 days without water before resorting to that.

Maybe she got tired of aiting for a terrorist attack.

We will know if she rolls out a big, well-orchestrated series of accusations tomorrow.

I would like to wake up tomorrow and find out that this was caused on the Canadian side of the border by French members of ANSWR and DNC operatives.

I can spin blame as well as Hillary...heheheh.

Well that is the rumor that is reported. But perhaps the 9 seconds took place after/as a result of the operator errors.

Anyway, I am curious, how is Hillary finding a way to blame Bush? It never occurred to me to blame someone, was it his turn to flip some switch today?L

Enron.

Seriously, that's what she's been saying. Hinting God knows what and no reporter yet has asked her what the hell she is getting at.

She also mentions California and how Governor Davis had to fight for energy for his state.

The implication is that Bush's buds the energy companies are running a slip-shod ship and making their ill-gotten gains and then it all goes poof one day when she's been trying to pass legislation for two years to prevent something likes this happening.

See?

>>>no power = no water.

>>how have these people dealt with power outages in the past????

Why in the world wouldn't a piece of critical infrastructure like a water plant not have emergency generators for at least some percentage of normal operation? All the telecom people sure do.
