Hannity station went dead for about 20 seconds. Said he had never seen anything like it.

Seems like it could just be a very overburdened system with high temperatures and everyone using too much electricity. It seems the only cold place today is here where it's supposed to be hot. I'm not ruling out a terrorist attack with the open borders and all ---- but I think there's other possibilities.

NYC Looks surreal without the lights on and the sun setting.

Since 9/11, the power companies have hired security experts and have THREE software systems designed to prevent this kind of thing from happening and to prevent cyber terrorism - which is exactly what Cheney was afraid of in 6/01.
We all do understand, do we not, that ANY system can be worked around by extremely clever cyber people?
Your insinuations that Cheney didn't act appropriately on his concerns are misguided and just plain incorrect.

I'm not talking about the Manhattan plant, but whatever the building was across the river in New Jersey.

Oakland County is completely in the dark from what I've heard.
I know it's a state of emergency there. Macomb is also hit. So is Ann Arbor(North Washtenaw is tied to Livingston which is safe).

All you can do is be as prepared as possible and pray.I have a stock of antibiotics. As an agnostic my prayers begin with "To whom it may concern..." Been doing a lot of them lately...

Outages are sporadic in the Buffalo area -- the workplace went dark about 4:15, but the power has been on at home here about 5 miles away.
The southern tier seems to be more widely affected. There are reports from the Erie County Fair of people stuck on rides and such, I hear they closed it down for the night except for a Kelly Clarkson (sp?) concert there.
It's been pretty hot today, but there was no mention of any thunderstorms or lighting strikes in the Niagara Falls area, so this theory is probably bogus...

How many posts does it take for you to tell everyone six times that you don't believe there was lightning at Niagra Falls today?
You are really annoying.
To: Focault's Pendulum
I can state unequivocably:
If Focault's Pendulum had been appointed to run in place of Toricelli, none of this would have happened!
Thank You.
