Hannity station went dead for about 20 seconds. Said he had never seen anything like it.

I had no power for 26 hours last month and it didn't make the evening news.
same thing happened to me and I just plugged a long cord into the apartments laundry room next door!!!

It sounds as though power's being restored to the areas furthest away from NYC first?Sounds that way.

Did ConEd outsource their software to India?? " In the precedant of being "fair and balanced". Did Con Edison outsource their software in the blackouts of 65 and 77?
Or did good ole American union workers do that?

Your from Baghdad I suppose, so go crawl back in your mud hut before spewing such illogical, ridiculous and insensitive statements.

We have full power here in Western Michigan. I heard that Kzoo got hit though, as well as Lansing.

What's Bush supposed to do? Did Blather give any suggestions? Maybe Bush could go go to NYC and hang out in the streets and cause more problems by just being there with his security detail. It's not like the police et al don't have enough to do.
Blather is a moron.

Cavuto says futures trading will continue as normal, no disruption to markets.

VICE PRESIDENT CHENEY June 13, 2001:"One of the concerns, obviously, is the aging power grid and the growing problem that we have in getting electricity from the power plant to the light switch. It's clear that we must upgrade and expand the power grid. If we put more connections in place, we'll go a long way towards avoiding future blackouts."

all will be back to normal in a few hours. In 1965 it took until 5:00 am. In Jacksonville last April it took 17 hours to restore power to a half million homes.

Do you live in CA? Like Sonoma or Marin? We do that often here...thank you Gray. Whenever I'm hanging clothese outside in the hot sun I belt out "People who need people hang Barbara's clothes." Neightbors like it.

We used to live in Windsor and are now retired in SC, nutmeg. Just wanted to send my former nutmegger greetings. Thanks, Peach! We live in one of "the Granbys". I just happened to be in an oil and lube place today in Windsor Locks when their power went out, but only for a few seconds. I didn't think much of it until I got my car back and heard Sean Hannity say that WABC and ABC in NYC had had some massive power outage right at the same time. We're down in NYC fairly often, but I have to admit I'm happy I'm not there today.

All depends on how the situation develops as we get closer to nightfall.I'm not seeing anything on the TV news about Detroit, besides mentioning they are included in the outage. Not to sound paranoid, but....
To: appalachian_dweller
That's a rather disquieting thought. A needed thought, but unplesant none the less. I hadn't thought of that one. Lucky you.
Once you think it (well as soon as you stop cringing after thinking it), you're obligated to sound the warning.
Some people don't want to hear it and will attack you. *sigh*
May as well be hung for a goat as a sheeple...

Any idea if their walkie talkies or cell phones are even working? Cell phones are working but people have been flooding lines. According to Cavuto demand has slowed and cell phones are ok now.

I like your tagline. As a CT resident, you must feel like a fish out of water; I know I did until we moved south, got Fox News and I found Free Republic.
