Prayer Request for A Tiny Baby (Update in post #12850)

If you will, please remember this tiny baby in your prayers. He’s the grandson of a very dear friend of mine. Logan was born on July 25. His due date was in October, making his mommy 26 weeks along, being born 3 months and 3 days early.

Logan was 1 lb 9.4 oz when he was born and is now weighing, as of this morning, 1 lb. 8.3 oz. The little guy is now 12-1/2” long.

He’s a real trooper and is fighting with all his little body can fight with. His Grandma said that he’s starting to recognize his mommy when she comes in the room and hears her voice. She said he tries so hard to open his eyes, and starts kicking his feet.

I asked my friend if there were any specific prayers, other than the obvious…and this is her reply…” A prayer of thanks for the miracle called "Logan.”

On a personal note, I’ve read the emails daily from my friend. I’ve known her for years, I’ve heard her talking about her family for years…but I’ve got to tell you that I’m SO impressed with how her children have all banded together in support. What an incredibly wonderful and loving family.

Father God, we lift up Logan’s little body to you. We pray that you can strengthen him hourly, daily, weekly, until he’s grown enough to go home with his precious family. We ask for guidance for the doctors and nurses who are caring for him. We ask for strength for his parents and extended family. Thank you so much for the gift of life. In Jesus’ Name, Amen

It was a sad day today.
Some of our heroes in a far away land died today while helping protect us at home.
It's always sad when we hear such news.
I wish when you get old enough to read this thread
yourself that this kind of news will no longer exist.
However being realistic I don't want to offer you false hope.
Through out the history of our country men and women have died fighting for the Freedom we have.
That is why we have the saying
Freedom is not Free.
Please join me in a silent prayer for those who died today and their family and friends.
We can find Comfort in knowing God will Welcome these heroes Home.
And HE will Comfort their family and friends.

Good morning Uncle Tonkin..

It was indeed such a sad day when we heard of the chopper crash and all of our loved ones who were lost and injured in the crash. Mommy and Nana cried and said they continue to try and understand why such evil is in our world today. All of those young men and women were so brave and trying to help people they don't even know.

Last night, my mommy had tears running down her face as we prayed for everyone, and especially the soldiers, and their families. God has welcomed them home.

Thank you for reminding us that Freedom is not Free. When I get big, Mommy and Daddy and Nana will help me to understand and be proud of our great nation. And if necessary, to fight for freedom. Our prayers are that someday, all of this will end and men will live in peace together.

I love you too Uncle Tonkin.

Dear TT,
We just got home from spending a weekend "away".
Saw the terrible news ourselves yesterday.
All I could do was cry and hold my own hubby and try not to think about what "could have been".
You tell your mommy that I cry too. All of the time..
Like your Uncle Tonk said...I pray that when you are big their are not these kind of things in the world..but I too, think that it is a false hope.
I will pray for you that you will have the same strength that your momma has and your nana too!

We are all so blessed to be a part of this thread.

LOGAN UPDATE AND PICS

Hi everybody...

Just a quick update on the Termite. He went to the pulmonary doctor today and he is doing pretty good. His oxygen sat rate is at 87% and it has to be at least 92% to be taken off of the canula, so he has a way to go yet. But he's getting there!

Logan now weighs 7 lbs. 4 oz. and he's 19" long! Quite a spurt for the little guy. He also had 2 first today..........................

He was given apple juice and he LOVES it! He finished off 2 oz. so fast we had to keep taking the nipple from him so he could breathe :) It's a milestone for the little guy to already being given something besides his milk. He did well with it and it didn't upset his tummy at all.

The other wonderful thing that happened was that when his mommy kissed his neck as she always does, he turned his head and opened his mouth to her cheek like little ones do when they "kiss" back. She and I both cried with joy! Her first kiss from Logan :)

This coming Friday he has an eye appointment to check and see how that's going. I do know that he sees. He watches lights, can follow you as you move around the room, etc. But because he does have mild ROP, we have to stay on top of that.

Our baby is progressing so well. His little lungs are still a big problem, but we knew that and hopefully in time, they will develop and leave him strong and healthy.

Our prayers continue for all of our friends, both those in need and our prayers of thanks to all of you.

A special thank you for Uncle Tonkin for stepping up and posting the pictures and update for us this time. Aren't friends and family great???

Logan: I'm sooooooooo proud of you! Way to grow!!! (Today apple juice; soon you'll be wanting apple pie! LOL!) I'm praying that your body keeps using that oxygen in the way it's supposed to do, so you can keep growing and growing into a healthy young man. I'm praying for your eyesight, and for strength for your NaNa and mommy, too. ... Oh! Also awesome news about that kiss today!!! (Keep it up. Mommies love that stuff, you know. So do grammas! I got some neat gramma kisses and hugs from my grandbabies today. Those kisses sure make for special times!) ;)
