If you will, please remember this tiny baby in your prayers. Hes the grandson of a very dear friend of mine. Logan was born on July 25. His due date was in October, making his mommy 26 weeks along, being born 3 months and 3 days early.
Logan was 1 lb 9.4 oz when he was born and is now weighing, as of this morning, 1 lb. 8.3 oz. The little guy is now 12-1/2 long.
Hes a real trooper and is fighting with all his little body can fight with. His Grandma said that hes starting to recognize his mommy when she comes in the room and hears her voice. She said he tries so hard to open his eyes, and starts kicking his feet.
I asked my friend if there were any specific prayers, other than the obvious
and this is her reply
A prayer of thanks for the miracle called "Logan.
On a personal note, Ive read the emails daily from my friend. Ive known her for years, Ive heard her talking about her family for years
but Ive got to tell you that Im SO impressed with how her children have all banded together in support. What an incredibly wonderful and loving family.
Father God, we lift up Logans little body to you. We pray that you can strengthen him hourly, daily, weekly, until hes grown enough to go home with his precious family. We ask for guidance for the doctors and nurses who are caring for him. We ask for strength for his parents and extended family. Thank you so much for the gift of life. In Jesus Name, Amen
Fellow Freepers
.I bring you Logan!!!

"Are you receiving any better care yet?"
Yes, thankfully I am.
It was the one year wait to get in the sustem that was "bad."
Once "in" I really can't complain.
I urge all my Brothers and Sisters getting
out of the Coast Guard to enroll with the VA right away.
Then explain why.

I'm so glad that problem has been overcome.
*** ALERT FOR ALL VETERANS ***
There is a television ad running with Bob Dole, if you've not seen it, advertising this year's Golden Corral Restaurants chain annual honoring of all military personnel, past and present.
This year, it is on Monday, November 10th - the Marine Corps Birthday..:))
Have been to the one in Aiken, and it was First Class all the way, the staff well instructed to be extra nice to us.
Despite the very long line to get in (5 - 9, and go early!), it moved very rapidly, and it was a full buffet, with even your being able to choose the steak and have it grilled before you, and enjoy the soup and salad and dessert bars as well.
The best thing was the joy felt from the honorees, to be thus recognized.
If your spouse is not military, there is of course a charge. They give Senior Discounts, if that person is one.

Buying a miracle
Tess went to her bedroom and pulled a glass jelly jar from its hiding
place in the closet. She poured all the change out on the floor and counted
it carefully. Three times, even. The total had to be exactly perfect. No
chance here for mistakes. Carefully placing the coins back in the jar and
twisting on the cap, she slipped out the back door and made her way 6
blocks
to Rexall's Drug Store with the big red Indian Chief sign above the door.
She waited patiently for the pharmacist to give her some attention but he
was too busy at this moment.
Tess twisted her feet to make a scuffing noise.
Nothing.
She cleared her throat with the most disgusting sound she could muster.
No good.
Finally she took a quarter from her jar and banged it on the glass
counter. That did it!
"And what do you want?" the pharmacist asked in an annoyed tone of voice.
"I'm talking to my brother from Chicago whom I haven't seen in ages," he
said without waiting for a reply to his question.
"Well, I want to talk to you about my brother," Tess answered back in the
same annoyed tone. "He's really, really sick... and I want to buy a
miracle."
"I beg your pardon?" said the pharmacist.
"His name is Andrew and he has something bad growing inside his head and
my Daddy says only a miracle can save him now. So how much does a miracle
cost?"
"We don't sell miracles here, little girl. I'm sorry but I can't help
you," the pharmacist said, softening a little.
"Listen, I have the money to pay for it. If it isn't enough, I will get
the rest. Just tell me how much it costs."
The pharmacist's brother was a well dressed man. He Stooped down and
asked the little girl, "What kind of a miracle does your brother need?"
"I don't know," Tess replied with her eyes welling up.. "I just know he's
really sick and Mommy says he needs an operation. But my Daddy can't pay
for
it, so I want to use my money".
"How much do you have?" asked the man from Chicago.
"One dollar and eleven cents," Tess answered barely audibly. "And it's
all
the Money I have, but I can get some more if I need to.
"Well, what a coincidence," smiled the man. "A dollar and eleven
cents-the
exact price of a miracle for little brothers."
He took her money in one hand and with the other hand he grasped her
mitten and said "Take me to where you live. I want to see your brother and
meet your parents..
Let's see if I have the kind of miracle you need."
That well dressed man was Dr. Carlton Armstrong, a surgeon, specializing
in neuro-surgery. The operation was completed without charge and it wasn't
long until Andrew was home again and doing well. Mom and Dad were happily
talking about the chain of events that had led them to this place. "That
surgery," her Mom whispered. "was a real miracle. I wonder how much it
would
have cost?"
Tess smiled. She knew exactly how much a miracle cost... one dollar and
eleven cents ....... plus the faith of a little child.
A miracle is not the suspension of natural law, but the operation of a
higher law......
(A TRUE STORY)
I know you'll keep the ball moving! Here it goes. Throw it back to
someone
else who means something to you!
The Friendship Ball
A ball is a circle, no beginning, no end.
It keeps us together like our Circle of Friends.
But the treasure inside for you to see is the treasure
of friendship you've granted to me. Today I pass the
friendship ball to you.. Pass it on to someone
who is a friend to you.
MY OATH TO YOU...
When you are sad.....I will dry your tears.
When you are scared.....I will comfort your fears.
When you are worried.....I will give you hope.
When you are confused.....I will help you cope.
And when you are lost.....And can't see the light,
I shall be your beacon.....Shining ever so bright.
This is my oath.....I pledge till the end.
Why you may ask?.....Because you're my friend.

The essence of being close to God is to give of oneself to others. There is NOTHING else more clear in the teachings of Jesus on what discipliship involves.
God bless you both. God understands our confusion & our straying..he give us opportunities to love & give so that we may look him squarely in the eye as we are a blessing to others...

That's great!! I'll pass this around. I don't think we have a Golden Corral.. but I'm sure a Vet we know has one near by!! Thanks for the heads up!!

I'm delighted you can pass this on to someone deserving.
Here is the URL to the Golden Corral's website and the location of this third year of the tribute to the military.
Included also are Reservists and National Guard members.
http://www.goldencorral.com/PromoSpec.htm
It concerned me because the Bob Dole TV ad stated "for all active and retired military" which seemed to exclude those who served and did not retire.
The advertisement clearly states, however, how it has been in the past - for all veterans who served or military now serving.
Scroll down to see the wide variety of things on the buffets.
The greatest thing was the tremendous respect shown everyone who participated by every employee from the manager down...

(DEPORT HILLARY!)
To: Brad's Gramma; All
Please indulge me a prayer req.
A precious brother newly married to a precious sister who supported my Taiwan mission work with lots of prayer, encouragement etc.
is in a coma. They were almost stopped turning at an intersection when someone rearended them at about 45mph.
He lapsed into a coma shortly thereafter and had brain surgery post haste--perhaps largely to reduce the swelling. He'll be kept in a coma for a couple of more days before they'll have much clue as to how it's gone.
His name is Ben. Lanelle is, of course, quite exhausted as well as concerned/anxious.
THANKS TONS IN ADVANCE FOR THE VERY POTENT PRAYERS OF THIS THREAD.
Lord, we lift up Ben and continue to ask that you bring him around into complete wholeness. Put every cell and fiber, every neuron to rights--and even more to rights--as healthy as a teenager. Please use this time to facilitate greater intimacy between you and him and to flood him with your humility, brokenness, compassion etc. as never before. Bless Lanelle and cause her to find in you the confident source of comfort, strength, supply, even joy in the midst of the suffering, in Jesus' Name, Amen.
BLESSINGS ON EACH ONE, EACH HOUSEHOLD AND EACH EXTENDED FAMILY INVOLVED IN PRAYERS FOR ALL SUCH. May all the extended family members become tightly connected with our Lord in the closest possible relationship with God from here on out.
In Jesus' Name, amen.
