Don't forget that one of God's gifts to Christians was Peter's vision in which God told him there were no longer any "clean" and "unclean" animals or food.

However, the Jewish strictures against murder, theft and homosexuality, among other things, stayed in place.

In other words, what Christianity did was sift out the wheat from the chaff in the Jewish religion, which at that time equated ritual practice with morality.

Christianity, essentially, has no invariable and required ritual practice: but it retained the moral teachings that God handed down to Moses. And that's what matters.

Note the use of the same description "abomination." Ergo Homosexuality according to the Bible is no worse than eating a shrimp cocktail or a catfish platter. Where am I wrong?

First of all the dietary statutes in Leviticus are directed toward the Jews ONLY, and are not comparable to laws governing sexual moral conduct that apply to ALL men.

Secondly God prescribes the death penalty in Leviticus for homosexuality. Not for eating shellfish.

Furthermore, it is one thing to tell the Jews that shell fish should be an "abomination", or something repulsive to them when it comes to their diet.
It is quite another for God to say that a certain sexual conduct is an abomination to Him.

Finally, the dietary restrictions for the Jews are done away with in the New Testament, but the prohibitions against homosexuality are repeated and confirmed for ALL people.

I would disagree with that as the OT law was written to and for the Jews.

Those laws unless repeated in the NT are not applicable to Christians.

The Evangelical Presbys and the PCA are two different branches from the steam that broke off from what is today the PCUSA in during the fundimentalist/modernist controversies of the 40's. The Orthodox Presbys, Bible Presbys, and Reform Presbys actually were first, then PCA (which the Reformed Presbys joined) and more recently the Evangelical Presby's. I will always remember my liberal pastor in a United Presby in the 60's telling my parents that the Bible was just a book written by a bunch of smart Jews when they asked why the Bible was not preached in our church. That was the beginning of our families association with the fundies.

Think about it. This exactly how this church came into being.

Indeed. Bear in mind that the Anglicans were also the first major Christian denomination to legitimize birth control. That was in 1930. I do not know of a single Protestant sect that today holds what the Church taught on that subject for 1900 years. I hope and pray that today's decision will not be as influential on the Protestant sects as was Lambeth, but I don't hold out much hope.

I'm sure there are a lot of good, faithful Episcopalians passing through the worst moments of their lives right now.

I'm sure they saw this coming. The debate has been going on for years in the Episcopal Church.
The idea that an issue like this ever became a serious controversy should have alerted them to the fact that their church was drifting away from sound Biblical doctrine a long time ago.

Non-denominational is a choice too. A Bible teaching body of believers who get together twice a week to share the Gospel and minister to one another and the community.
