I'm sure there are a lot of good, faithful Episcopalians passing through the worst moments of their lives right now.

I'm sure they saw this coming. The debate has been going on for years in the Episcopal Church.
The idea that an issue like this ever became a serious controversy should have alerted them to the fact that their church was drifting away from sound Biblical doctrine a long time ago.

They probably did see it coming. But I guess it's like a train wreck - you can't stop it, but you still hope at the last minute that something will intervene and prevent it from happening. But nothing did, in this case.
