Never mind--I just remembered it was the American branch of the Church of England.

Satan is alive and well and works in the church!!
Notice I didn't say which church...I think Satan has many bishops, many priest, many ministers of youth, many reverends, many deacons, many...too many. I am sorry to see more and more of this sort of thing not only accepted, but welcomed.
Too many churches have lost their souls and they are leading their flock down the path straight to hell!

Selfishness comes right before sodomy in the new pre-flight checklist for hip seminarians.
Exactly..
It's like: "well, look.. I am gay and proud, I deserve to be a bishop and if anyone has a problem with that, including God, then it's THEIR problem and they can just deal with it because I am entitled to hold this position. So, effem!"
That's a far cry from ministering to the lost, setting a good example, putting God first and making every attept not to cause your brother to stumble,

They were absolutely determined from Day 1 to appoint this homosexual bishop. Nothing would have detered them from this. The agenda gays are at it again.
To: Honorary Serb
I say this from a secular rational point of view. I can't understand how you can read the New Testament and find approval for homosexuality. Even if you are not a Christian, just a scholar you can't find anything but condemnation for homosexuality. I mean this decision is for the Episcopalians to make alone-I am not of their creed-but what justification in scripture do they find to accept homosexuality?

II Thessalonians 2:3 Let no one deceive you by any means; for
that Day will not come unless the falling away comes first, and the man of sin is revealed, the son of perdition...
The "falling away" is of course the great endtime apostasy clearly prophesied. Is this isn't a falling away of the church, it's hard to imagine what is.
Sickening and disgusting, yet inevitable.

#118...We were in the Lutheran church (ALC) for 12 years....BEFORE we became PCA Presbyterian.
We left the Lutheran church when it became the ELCA because of the liberal leanings of the heirarchy.

IIRC, the Anglican Church was ironically formed in similar circumstances. If you Google 'Henry the eighth' and 'Anglican Church' you should get plenty of info on how and why the Church of England was started.
I guess if Henry the 8th had been gay this thread might be about whether or not to ordain a divorced bishop...
To: I still care
I totally agree. It was a done deal.
I don't care at all for Robinson either; he is a big liberal. I still haven't forgiven him for making the statement that he was "tired of having to apologize for the United States when he traveled in other parts of the world."
Oh, how much I wanted to say to him that I was tired of having to apologize for him and his ilk to critics of my church.

Acts.17
[11] These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so.The scriptures will answer your questions.
The list is long but as a recent example just look at the ordination of women.

The homosexual activists could have easily formed their own church and had ANY philosophy they wanted and established ANY policy they wanted on anything.
But its not about that. Its about destroying what exists, not forming something new that suits them. Its essentially about wiping out a centuries old institution by stealing it and transforming it into something alien.
Leave the buildings behind, leave the land behind, leave the money behing, leave it all behind because those things are not the Church. Head out into the wilderness and build something new and better and that has defenses against such a hostile takeover.
Leaving it all behind and starting from nothing can be a good thing.

-I BEG ALL EPISCOPALS WHO ARE AS APALLED AS WE ARE...LEAVE THE CHURCH NOW!!! FORM YOUR OWN CHURCH OF THE MAJORITY. I SUGGEST YOU CALL IT THE "AMERICAN ANGLICAN CHURCH", IN LINE WITH THE ENGLISH WHO HAVE REFUSED TO BRING THEIR OWN RELIGION INTO THE GUTTER OF HOMOSEXUAL DEPRAVITY.-
The AAC could refer to the ECUSA as the Rump Episcopal Church.

Darn. Second time today you've made the most trenchant post on a thread. Maybe you should do a column or something.
