While I welcome good news from the front, is this message verifiable?

Shakespear said "First kill all the lawyers". He was wrong, first you kill all the journalists and THEN kill all the lawyers.

There, ladies and gentlemen, is your average American fighting man, labeled...a GI. They are the best we got, the cream of our youth, they are the kids that play football and get so-so grades, they are the smart assed kids that the town folk bitch about. And, they are the smart, rich kids that go for a reason that can't be stopped by their fathers and mothers. All of these GIs are the best America has to offer, and they chose to stand in harms way for the country that they love so much. These are our John Wayne's, aren't they great? John Wayne didn't die, he just passed bravery on to another generation, and that generation passed him off to another, and this brave generation will pass them of again.
When these men come back they will have a different view of this country. These men will make the politics of the future by the leadership tried and tempered by battle and dedication to the cause of freedom and liberty. They have seen the enemy and they have defeated him. The socialists are crying in their holes at the though of brave men, tried in combat for their country, coming to fight them.
God bless and keep this young man. He reports the truth from a place that is hell on earth. He fights for a thing that has no material worth.....freedom. Freedom extended, for the American people, and freedom for people that he has never known, and have never had it.
Tell me that there are not patriots in those young ranks and I will call you a fool.
Thank you God, You have done a fine job of preserving "The Patriot".

"It represents a major (and long overdue) shift in tactics. Instead of being sitting ducks for the ragheads we now are going after the worthless pieces of fecal matter." Thanks for the ping, I can't tell you how much the above quote eases my mind. I love each of those boys and tend to worry about every hair on their heads. What a great letter from a great soldier, so glad to see all he had to say.

Thanks Tonk...I now want to ensure my TV never receives NBC/BCS/ABC/CNN evber again. I can't believe their orchestrated efforts to erode public support. They are worse than the Fedayeen.

Thanks, Tonkin. You are the best!
Check this out from John's 'patch' link:
Soldiers from the 3rd Brigade, 1st Armored Division received a surprise visit from Deputy Secretary of Defense Paul Wolfowitz for their Sunday breakfast. Spc. John Wollaston reports...

Thank you for your service, txradioguy. You sound marvelous. Sec. Wolfowitz acknowledged your successes along with your sacrifices. Adding your radio link to my homepage ~ non-wanker Coalition news source links and articles filled with your successes in Iraq.

Ragtime Cowgirl, I have a question:
Why is it that half way through the letter it has all those arrows,> like when I receive jokes that have been passed on from the internet?
Starting at this point.
> Safe water is more available.
> Electricity has been restored to pre-war levels but saboteurs keep cutting the lines. And The old Ba'ath big shots are upset because they can't get fuel for their private generators. One actually complained to General McKeirnan, who told him it was a rough world.
>
etc.

These guys are America's hope in more ways than one, huh.
This is good to know, too...a lot of armchair experts were criticizing SOD Rumsfeld for this choice:
The good news is that General Schoonmaker is going to appointed ChiefArmy and the old man is coming to Tampa to run the SpOps desk at CentComm.
If he's good enough for Spec. Ops Mark, he's good enough for me - and every pundit, pol, armchair general and 'journalist', imho.

The whiners are always reported by the media while those who don't are just ignored. Please tell your son that we are working at changing this very bad habit of the press.
Thank you, armymarinemom.

Hey, thanks for posting! It was GREAT to hear directly from the MAJORITY of guys who are there, I think, and not from the very few who were interviewed, along with their wives, who complained all over the mainstream 'news'.

John Wayne may have been a great American, but he never served a day in his life. Try someone like Roy Benevidez or Dick Meadows if you're going to assign a role model.

The media knows that if they published stuff like this, the President would continue to be supported by the voters and Americans would be proud of the military. They don't want that. The leftist media is almost as dangerous to our security and freedom as the terrorists.

FYI. Ammo. Please share this letter. We need to get the truth out for the troops. Our lost moral equivocators in the press are handing their powerful pens to the bad guys.
Our search and destroy missions are largely at night, free of reporters and generally terrifying to those brave warriors of Allah. The only thing that frightens them more is hearing the word "Gitmo". The word is out that a trip to Guantanimo Bay is not a Caribbean vacation and they usually start squealing like the little mice they are, when an interrogator mentions "Gitmo".
The bad guys are terrified of our helpless little victims warriors. Who knew?
