Dont know, why are there any illnesses and genetic disorders? I ust dislike this coming out of the closet - in your face behavior. It used to be that people kept their private lives more private - (heterosexuals as well.) Now, it is commonplace to air our most private actions. Coupled with PLANNED ignorance of the general population through dumbed-down education, and a Roman-like arena (TV) for tittilating "entertainment" - pockets of our culture are at their basest ever. LOL Luckily, that does NOT exist at FR :)

I didn't realize this was "Gay Pride" weekend here in Atlanta until I saw the
Joe Lube banner being pulled around by a plane over Piedmont Park.

I can understand that! Last weekend I picked up The Daily Oklahoman and there was a picture of a "Gay" Parade in OKC which actually shocked me -- it was on Page 3 though and not on the front page!

I wonder if the leftists in the democrat party are going to fracture it by being so extreme. BTW, you posted later about co-opting langauge. That is an old communist trick. Probably used before then as well. If you have never read this, I highly recommend Wild Swans, the story of the girls of a Chinese family who eventually came to America. But what is jaw-dropping is their (true) description of the way propaganda and language was used to control the people. black was literally white, good was bad. It is a dead ringer - though perhaps we are less extreme - for what is going on here.

Gag pride parade?
When I was in high school I had a friend who's dad decided he was "gay" or bi-sexual or something like that. Anyway, my friends sister was a lesbian besides his dads "confusion".
To make a long story short I was around all sorts of queers. My friends dad even opened a business in the Hoston Montrose area for one of his "friends" (who robbed him blind). Every one of them was a mess. Their lives in constant turmoil over something. Never did I meet someone like the "gay couple" depicted variously by TV and the media. The two old "partner" types that were just together and like a "normal" couple. And I met 100's of queers.
More often than not I found most of the queers, especially the "gay" men, to be extremely self-loathing but at the same time quite demanding that you recognize their "gayness". Damn demanding some of them. Either they had to be noticed by doing something outraguous or they were just loud.
As best I can tell the Supreme Court just gave them a good bit of the recognition ALL the queers I ever met wanted or demanded. That they be looked at as normal. This won't be good enough for many of them. Unfortunately, some of those are lawyers. There is some real gross stuff on the way....

``Let's hear it for gay pride,'' Schumer shouted. ``Let's even hear it for the Supreme Court - who ever thought we'd say that!'' Unbelievable!

I led a sheltered life in a small town in Ohio! I have only begun to realize how sheltered. Even my kids for the most part were not confronted with anyone from the gay community until they were in college. If someone was gay in their high schools it never came out.
I wondered if the sterotypes on TV were even close to reality. You have cleared that one up!

"Wild Swans, the story of the girls of a Chinese family who eventually came to America." I've read that book, many years ago. Like you, I'd highly recommend it.

Thanks! There seem to be several threads all about the same topic going around here tonight. Sen Frist article from AP started a snowball on here!
And to think, I logged on here expecting no news for a Sunday evening and then to bed early -- WRONG -- I am still here and news was anything but boring!

Amazing the Communist hoaxes the people bought into! Or were afraid to speak out about. Like the King with no Clothes, to an extreme. Remember the parts about the truck with a giant carrot and fields filled with crops planted overnight to "prove" a new fertilizer's "miraculous" properties?
