I apologize in advance, as this may be long-winded.
A friend of mine told me a few days ago about her next-door neighbor's "niece of a son-in-law." She lives an hour from here. She dropped her baby off at daycare and set off for work, at which point her car was plowed into by a construction truck.
She, obviously, was in very BAD condition and it really did not look good. She was comatose (still is), but had too many broken bones to count. About the only good news was that she did have "brain waves."
A day or so ago, she took a turn for the worst and developed pneumonia... but everyone who knows the family (including friends, neighbors, and "friends of friends") have been praying for her.
I started to post a prayer request this morning, but my ISP went down.
While it was down, I got a call from the friend who told me about this girl... and "her pneumonia is all but gone." Isn't God awesome?
She is still in a coma, but her neurologist said today what he hasn't in the past, "There is hope!"
She is still in a coma, but seems to twitch her hand in response. She has a long road ahead of her and lots of therapy and plastic surgery, but she is making baby steps, and may pull through.
There is so much more to be thankful for. Seems like this event has pulled estranged members of her family back together. I guess He really does work in mysterious ways.
So, now that I have finished this long-winded post, I would ask for your prayers for this girl and her family. Thanks and God bless!
This morning I was told that she would open her eyes when she heard her father's voice.
now, as of this afternoon.. She is off the respirator and holding her own. If this continues for a full 24 hours (3 more hours to go), they are going to move her from ICU to CCU. She has been heavily sedated, but they are going to take her off all the heavy sedation and just keep her on pain medicine. The doctor asked her to move her foot and she DID! If all that wasn't enough, they said once she goes to CCU, they plan to let her parents bring in the baby
NEWSFLASH: As I am typing this, my friend is dictating the latest to me over the phone. My friend's neighbor had made some mittens so she wouldn't scratch herself and put a picture of the baby on the palm, and another aunt made a quilt square with a picture of the baby, and hung it on the wall. Courtney looked over at it once when she awoke. She started to thrash and tried to talk. They ARE going to move her to CCU tonight.
KEEP PRAYING, He is definitely listening to all of you.
Thank You for hiding Courtney in the shadow of Your wings until these calamities have passed by. You are our awesome, omnipotent God and we praise You for Your faithful care of this young mother. Thank You for the amazing things You have done to awaken and restore her body thus far, and for all that You are planning for her life. Increase the faith of all those who surround her in love. Help them to believe in Your power and desire to heal. Father, You are a mighty and faithful God who hears the prayers of His children. May Your Name be glorified in Courtney's healing and in her life. Please accept our praise and thanksgiving in the Name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
Thank You Lord,Amen
Carolyn
