... and the *whole* point of the last two *successful* 'wars' has been to head this sort of thing off - RIGHT???

Right....Has there been another terrorist attack on American soil since 9/11/01?

No there hasn't.

Did I miss your point or something?

If they didn't lock the borders down, for any significant period of time, on 9/11, then why would they do so, today? The borders will never be shut, in my opinion.

It's a stupid idea and I know it. It didn't go over my head. Give a fellow freeper some credit.

Actually I was going to say give them Vermont so they can have all the married gay couples to deal with.

They couldn't have gotten them from Saddam, because he didn't have any WMD, right? Isn't that what the anti-war crowd has been telling us?

Not at all.

I just wanted to be *crystal clear* on that point.

I have always suspected that the reason why the gov't hasn't shown all of the evidence about the WMD, is because Iraq is teeming with terrorists, who either got to the weapons already, or are still hunting them down. Just my opinion.

"Let's give them a state"

---

You,of all people shouldn't have brought this up, because that is exactly what they want, not a state, but a country: Israel. And you what they want to do with it.

My algebra one teacher was a terrorist.

Looking back on it, she didn't boy students who were boys.

"For the states to effectively monitor the situation, heighten security, they need funds."

The states have funds, so deploying funds is a matter of priorities, political judgements.

What many in local governments are doing these days is basically claiming they cannot do "Homeland Security" activities, unless given MORE funds.

Regardless of where funds come from, such security SHOULD be raised to a high priority. Maybe for starters, states and local governments can cut out non-essentials.

Recently the Los Angeles Mayor asked the Council for 350 more cops, but was turned down. The largely socialist Council wants to keep spending on non-essentials, but won't spend for ESSENTIAL security activities.

To his credit, the Mayor pledged to keep pushing, whatever that means.

Just something to consider.

So, who is next in the series after Iraq?

I'm kinda in favor of not believing them either - the act of terror can sometimes be just to make us think they are going to attack - when in actuality, they are not capable of pulling off such an attack. But the thought can be the worst terror of all - waiting for the attack.

I think you are right. It is more important to try to find them, than to worry about the screechings of the leftists.

It's a toss up between Iran and Syria. Iran first, then Syria, or the other way around, but I think they will both have a "regime change" before we are through.

370,000 illegals have come in since 9/11.

Is that all? Even one could be too many. I want to know why we can't repatriate the illegals we already have.
