But as I'm listening to Ruben slaughter this song, I know who will be the longterm winner. Bump. You are so right.

Clay fans freeped. All those polls proved it. The vote that counted was rigged. No way they figured out how to freep the nation, as the poll results obviously show, but could not figure out how to dial up fox.

Hi Jag, I'm reading through the thread now. Gotta say it - 'Bridge' was better than 'Wings'. It'll work out though. Clay will do well and so will Ruben.

Oh, I put my tin foil hat on about twenty minutes ago. I'm way ahead of you. No more AI for me. I'd rather sing at home for my pets. I always ask them "Where are you from?" just like a lounge singer at a Fla. Holiday Inn (of course I know where they're from). Then I make pet jokes. I'm my very own American Idol. LOL

Clay is from NC- why would there be some sort of conspiracy that the his line would be jammed with people voting for their native son? Anyone who called AI most weeks like I did knows that a busy line=a lot of votes. A line that easily assessable means that there is not a lot of traffic for that particular singer.

Well, I just did the math. 1,335 (give or take) votes out of 24,000,000 votes = 0.000056, or 0.0056 percent.

As a guy who is a very frustrated musician and singer, this whole show has been such a kick for me. What I enjoyed most was the fact that both Ruben and Clay are excellent singers, and this wasn't a ridiculous mismatch like Kelly vs. Justin was. On top of that, they are professional and good friends.
I am going to the Idol tour stop in San Jose. Who knows? Maybe I can get to meet my fave, Julia DeMato. : )

Let not your heart be troubled. There was a 0.0056 percent difference between the two. I made it through on the phone about four times, and TM'ed a bunch of times. It was a virtual tie ... and honestly, I'd say that Ruben needed it more. He will have a more limited career, from where I stand today. Clay can write his own ticket... he will have a lot more control over his career, and I believe that BMG has first dibs on his contract ... but he doesn't HAVE to take it.
He's in a good place - look at how far he's come in such a short time, and how many hearts he's won. Breathe easy. :-)

YESS! I LOOOOOOOVE Julia! I was heartbroken when she got voted off, and I never forgave Kimberly Caldwell for screwing her over in the initial auditions.

And I'm betting (and hoping) that Simon's going to personally sew the world's most annoying Atkins dietician to Ruben's thigh for the next six months. Lord knows Ruben can afford it now. Man, it must have stunk to be Dr. Atkins in his last moments of consciousness. The world is finally saying that your hyper-criticized theories may have merit, and you slip on an icy sidewalk, and die.
If I was in charge of the Subway chain, I would be calling Ruben's agent and setting up a meeting between him and Jared Fogle. Imagine the PR masterstroke of having Ruben drop a hundred or so while eating turkey sandwiches.

Did you see the POW's in audience mouthing the words? Oh yes, I did! I also taped it. I had the tape in for AI, and am so glad I switched it over. Beautiful.

I did hear a bunch of boos when they read the DC's off in the nominees. THey're on now live in Austin, but darn! I seem to have pushed the Mute button. What the heck is in Natalie Maines' hair, anyway? It looks like she's storing a loaf of bread in there!

Honestly though, if there was only a 1,300 vote difference out of 24 million or so cast, that's a statistical tie, and they should have given the title to both of them. Spoken like a true Democrat in December 2000.
