President Bush began the day early with remarks at the Hispanic Prayer Breakfast in Washington DC. Later in the day, Bush spoke at the annual Peace Officers Memorial Service, where he praised and thanked law enforcement officers for their dedication and sacrifices. Enjoy your daily dose of Dubya!

OK. This is my idea.

We should all get together and write a book on marriage. We all have incredible, hot marriages (to out best friends) that work, and are filled with head over heels, take your breath away, type love. AND we can all write......right??

Wouldn't it be fun to get together and swap stories and then write down our experiences and advice (modified to a PG13 level of course!). AND we could write to George and Laura (who obviously have something sizzling going on) and get their contributions.......like how he modeled that flight suit to her. (Mr. Ohio had some FUN suggestions as to what they might have done, and I think I'm about to head out to a Navy surplus store!)

Whaddya think? ;o)

We are facing something familiar, but they're facing something new.

Such an important line from our President.

The Dems have been bewildered and confused by him since the moment he took office...........no, even before, when he was so calmly putting his cabinet together during the election fiasco, ready to accept God's will, whatever it might be, and algor and his team were worked up into a frenzy.

The transparency, directness and honesty of George W. Bush are striking a beautiful chord with the American people, but because the Rats are still playing from their dog-eared playbook, they are losing to him at every turn.

And your use of the capital T in the word 'Truth' is the key. He is being guided by the Spirit of God..........and that angel directing the storm he has found himself (and his country) in.

Jewels, that's a good hug, a safe hug, a LOVING hug...and the fact that she could hold on so tight w/o inhibitions says an awful lot about the man.

I noticed the same thing, BG. Look at the way she's holding on to HIM, taking genuine comfort from him because it is so loving (and yes, SAFE).

Have I said lately that I love this man?? I do.

So beautifully put, it deserves repeating.

Thanks, Belle!

(....but my English teachers would not be happy that I ended the last sentence with a preposition! LOL!)

This picture cracks me up! Just prior to him sitting up a bit and crossing his legs, he was leaning back in his chair, with his rear end sliding towards the end of the chair, and his legs extended and sprawled out. I saw him on TV and started laughing. I thought, "geez...W has got the worst posture in the world!" Clearly, he doesn't favor sitting up straight! LOL! I was hoping there would be a picture of it.

Me too. This pictures are wonderful. The guy must be gaining new supporters everyday! I've always said that the more people see W and the more people have an opportunity to see him, hear him and perhaps meet him, the easier his re-election bid is going to be. I have a feeling he's going to do a repeat of what he did in Texas - win his re-election bid in a landslide - but I don't want to count my chickens before they've hatched. We must remain vigilant. There is no room for complacency here.

I always like to quote Winston Churchill on his reaction to being criticized for ending a sentence with a preposition:

"This is foolishness, up with which I will not put!"

(PS--I taught English for 5 years. I grant papal dispensations for dangling prepositions.)

That quote is hilarious!

Let's give this a try.....

and that angel directing the storm he has found himself (and his country) in.

and that angel directing the storm in which he has found himself (and his country).

Nah....it sounds better the first way! Thanks for the 'indulgence,' your excellency! :o)

btw, as a child growing up I used to be 'fined' a quarter for making grammatical errors (as did my siblings and my parents, if we caught them), which were put in a giant bank on top of the refrigerator, and used for our vacations each summer. I do my VERY best to avoid them, even to this day!

Chapter 7 -"Creative Uses for Flightsuits, and their Zippers" (written specifically by homeschool mama, with footnotes by Laura Bush)

I tell you, Wphile......if he keeps getting out to the people, he cannot lose. When he gets to mingle with the 'common folk' it's MAGIC!

BUT, as you said.....we have to work as though he's the dark horse with very little chance to win. The RATS are going to pull new tricks out of their slimy hats.....we know that for sure.

do my VERY best to avoid them, even to this day!

I salute you! I also proofread and edit, so it's all I can do to resist the temptation to send corrections every time I see a grammatical faux pas on a post! But then, I am horrible at typos, so I try not to do it! (“As you critique, so shalt thou be critiqued!”—Chimney-Corner Scripture)

Regarding your last post, I believe we need to start praying NOW for 2004---I think the storm clouds (demonic hordes) are gathering even now to prevent his re-election. Now everyone else still left on this thread will think I'm wacko. But you know what I mean

Thank you so much for sharing a glimpse of the love you experience with your hubbies. It's so inspiring--gratifying--to know that love like that actually DOES still exist and is possible. As yes, mtngrl, you are right---it's rare for a marriage begun so young to still be alive and whole, decades later. You are blessed, indeed!

God bless each of you for sharing that. Treasure each moment. Life slips past us so quickly.
