A statewide survey of 500 registered, likely voters conducted on May 6-7, 2003 shows that President Bush would defeat Joe Lieberman, John Kerry or Richard Gephardt if the Presidential election were being held today. The margin or error for a survey of 500 likely voters is +/- 4.36%.

Wonderful news, even though I'm really not surprised. I don't think that New Jersey is as partisanly Democrat as some people seem to think.

Even still, it's good news, but we need to pray that this is what the poll says in Nov. 2004!

Exactly right. As McAuliffe is reading this poll you can be assured he's cooking up some dirty October '04 surprise scheme to attack President Bush.

If he takes Jersey early, Gephardt (the likely nominee) is doomed. AS a result, the democrats out west (people from Joisey consider Pennsylvania as a western state) won't bother voting. This will give Dubya huge coattails down ticket. That being said, 18 months is forever.

I agree. There's a reason for publicizing these high numbers now--So when a Dem Liar gets a few more points, it'll be all over the news how Bush's once high numbers are "Slipping".

Come on down to Joe's Hyphenated-American Pander Party.

"I got the hyphenated-American vote locked up, for God's sake. Kerry's a nothing.
My grandfather, Senor Shaquille O’Liebermanelli Fu Ching changed his name. I claim
Irish, Latino, Black, Mediterranean, and Oriental voting blocs...er, I mean, roots."

" A donation of $10 grand gets you a ticket to my Hyphenated-American Pander Party.
Help yourself to corned beef burritos, pastrami Egg Fu Yung, grits in Marinara sauce,
vintage Manishevitz, and oregano bagels stuffed with teriyaki-glazed ham, chitlins
and chili peppers."

I have been polled nearly every day for the past week. Usually I tell them that what I think of McGreevy is unprintable.......lots of push polling but I can't figure out who is behind it......lot of bashing Littel that's for sure.

New Jersey is three states: 1. Upper Middle Class Suburbanites, 2. Blue Collar Joe Blows and 3. the poorest ghetto dwellers in the nation.

Just imagine the numbers in my Pennsylvania.

If Bush's numbers look anything like Jersey's, he may be able to overcome the Philadelphia Teamsters' Vote Fraud Machine (which will be out in full force with Fast Eddie as the Guv).

I just hope these types of numbers hold up -- we cannot get complacent, and anything can happen (as we've seen!) between now and 11/04

From what I hear, being white isn't the problem in Mass. -- it's the PROTESTANT part that gets one in trouble.

Friends of mine have lived outside Boston for 12 years now and swear they rarely meet anyone who is NOT Catholic.
