Report Says CBS Likely to Drop New Segment With Ex-President
Television viewers are apparently not having 'visual relations' with Bill Clinton's weekly debate against Bob Dole on '60 Minutes,' leading industry experts to project CBS will oust the former President from the airwaves.
According to USA Today media colunist Peter Johnson, Clinton and Dole 'have generated virtually no buzz since they premiered in March and have done nothing to boost the sagging newsmagazine's ratings.'
Hence, as executives plan to announce CBS's fall schedule next week, analyists are betting that Clinton-Dole won't be back in September.
Don Hewitt, the show's executive producer, says although no decision has been made about the segment's future, the feature apparently got drowned out by strong viewer interest in the war against Iraq.

... the feature apparently got drowned out by strong viewer interest in the war against Iraq. This is just an excuse. If it were true, the ratings would be up and people would be tuning it in in droves.
Instead, they are voting with their remote.

LOL. Me too. Actually, I tape it while trying to listen to Harry Shearer on Le Show.
On Drudge Radio last Sunday, somebody asked about it and whether Andy Rooney's parody had anything to do with it.
I haven't watch 60Minutes in eons. So both Clinton and Rooney go unwatched and un-noted

I did not have visual relations with that woman!

Not only that, CBS on a few occasions did the dasterdly
thing of delaying the show 30 or 35 minutes, (deliberately
IMHO) to get higher ratings for the "Clinton Soapbox Show"
by snagging those of us who like the more popular
"Big Fat Greek Life" that follows it.
To us Tivo owners, that screwed up any other CBS recordings that night.
My reaction, I deleted the "Clinton Soapbox Show" as quickly
as possible, and I cancelled FOREVER, the instructions on my
machine to record every episode of "Big Fat Greek Life"

When the rat media gets nervous about putting a lying sack of shiite like that skunk bubba , we are winning gang, we are WINNING!

CBS's next proposition will be a pubic hair pulling contest between Hitlery & Liddy Dole!!!
NASTY!!!
I would prefer and would watch a tag team mud wrestling match pitting Hillary and Chelsa against Monica and Gennifer.
I expect the Clinton team would be a heavy favorite due to Hillarys reputation for under mud ear biting, eye gouging, etc. The only way to combat the tactics would be for Monica to suck all the mud out of the pit(which she could do in a few seconds) exposing Hillary's ploy to the refs.
In related news, TBS signed Bill Clinton to do a series of events where he will armwrestle blind orphaned 3rd-grade girls.

Is there a corporate/organizational list somewhere of those supporting Klinton with speaking opportunities? Sure would like to boycott these.

Too bad. What better match than two irrelevant pols on an irrelevant program on an irrelevant network?

Want better ratings? Replace Dole with Newt or Rush.
Their names came up, but Clinton turned them down.
Lack of cajones, I imagine.

That would be some good ratings.
I have actually been pleased with Dole a couple of times though...he hasn't been as wussy as I expected. Sometimes he attacked Clinton personally.

Their names came up, but Clinton turned them down.Yes, I recall that, now that you mention it. It was all about Clinton and they didn't realize that nobody wanted to see Clinton. (Although I'd watch Clinton getting hammered by a better debator.)

Ann CoulterWell, we're waiting . . .

Hewitt told the paper
Daylight Saving Time always hurts "60 Minutes" because it's light out at 7 p.m., meaning more viewers are still outdoors. Thus, a ratings boost "couldn't happen if the Statue of Liberty danced The Big Apple," Hewitt said. So,Don Hewitt, the Extreme Lefts Elderly 'Godhead', is still blaming others/and the weather of all things, for no boost in ratings? Refusing to admit he made a grave error in judgement? This isn't surprising.
