O'Reilly Seeks to Destroy Georgia Republican Governor
Posted on 05/06/2003 5:58:32 PM PDT by faithincowboys
Tonight, Bill has continued his jihad against Georgia Republican Governor Sonny Perdue. O'Reilly, who recently made what many considered an anti-black remark, has launched a full frontal assault on Perdue.
Inexplicably, Bill O blames the GOP Gov for an all-white private prom that recently occured in Baldwin County Georgia. Of course, if the Governor could prevent the white kids from having a private prom, we would be living in a totalitarian state.
Bill is clearly seeking to destroy Perdue to deflect from his racially insensitive faux pas.
Perdue's Black Female Press Secretary was on The Factor tonight and Bill was rude and hostile to her, it kinda made you think that if Bill were throwing a private party at his big Long Island digs (why doesn't he live closer to work in a more diverse area?) he wouldn't invite her unless she agreed to hold a serving tray all night.
Georgia is all ready in a state of racial tension, due to the flag issue, Bill's attempt to destroy Georgia's first Republican Governor since Reconstruction is, without a doubt, an assault on the GOP.
We should all let O'Reilly know how we feel about this. Also, when O'Reilly's young daughter becomes school age, we must demand that he sends her to a school in Harlem. The white kids who went to that prom attend a 55% African American majority high school and live more racially integrated lives than O'Reilly and his wealthy Long Island elitists ever have.
Were the kids morally wrong to exclude their balck peers from their private prom? Yes. Were they legally wrong? No. Does Sonny Perdue bear any culpability in the matter? Absolutely Not!
O'Reilly is now demanding that Perdue hold a press conference, go on The Factor, and/or go to this week's integrated prom.
I find O'Reilly's stance on this untenable and grotesque. Hobbling a Republican Governor (unfairly) driving up anti-Republican sentiment in the South (a region integral to Dubya's re-election) and galvanizing Southern Democrats is a clear sign that Bill is not on our team.
Maybe he's not on the D team either, perhaps, he is on his own team-- in a very Clintonian way. His jihad against Georgia's Governor is to appease the NYC, DC chattering class who think he is a racist and suspect his Jesse Jackson fixation is rooted in racism.
In a suck up to his critics, Bill O has thrown an innocent man to the wolves. This is outrageous!
and persecuting 18 years olds that

Freedom of association, freedom of assembly still is the law of the land in America. Period. So is freedom of speech but that doesnt stop us from expressing our indignation over what Danny Glover, Susan Sarandon and Tim Robbins have to say. People are free to associate with whom they please but when they are being stupid about it, there is nothing wrong with shaming them a bit.

I've been ranting way longer than I should have been when I need to get to bed, but I had to ping you to this one. I am amazed at how many FReepers actually buy that laws governing racial equality somehow translate into loss of the right to freedom of association in private social life. Either that, or they have just bought into the white guilt peddled by the left, hook, line and sinker.

so dave do you have kids? Where do you live? Prove your integration bona fides?
And when the good ole boys elect Democrats (like they have in Georgia up until Perdue) and the private, segregated proms take place, why is there no national media horror?
Are you telling me that all the kids and their parents that went to the all-white prom voted Republican? There are lots of Blue Dogs who are not "racially progressive".

Why would you need to "agree" or "disagree?" It is their choice. Just like BLACK entertainment TV, NAACP, etc. I just wish O'Reilly would shut up.

People in this country have the right to be bigots! We may find it offensive, but it is their right. And O'Reilly has the right to shame those who are bigots and those like Perdue that are super cowards and dont want to take a position that might be unpopular with the folks who brung him.

The picture he chose to use of Perdue is very revealing.
It looks like Perdue is in the middle of a Rebel Yell.

Why is it the governor's job to speak out about a private party?Glad you asked.
It's his job because the USA is comprised of the best of all of the races, religions, and creeds from all over the world and ALL ARE WELCOME as long as they subscribe to the SAME TENENTS that immigrants to this nation have subscribed to for the last 200 years, AND THATS WHAT MAKES US THE BEST.
SORRY IF SOME PEOPLE ARE NOT WHITE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

"America still represents all points of views" Yeah, we do, only now it is getting to the point where if certain groups don't "approve" of your point of view, or the way you choose your words to express it, you'd better keep your opinion to yourself.

Dave S., your makeup looked bad tonight.
Curious placement of the Danny Glover story right after the
all-white prom story?
Your dogged pursuit of Jesse Jackson and now Glover could seem racially charged to some.
To: Rome2000
Sorry. If I decide I don't want to go to my school's prom and have a separate private party, it's nobody's business, especially the governor's.

....racially segregated high school prom? That's the whole deal, O'Reilly keeps spinning it as a school sponsored event. What a jerk, the truth can't be spun.

Answer me this: do you believe that a parent has the right to teach their children not to marry outside their race?

O'reilley has the same problem that all left leaning individuals have, he thinks his views are the only ones that matter. Regardless of the morality or legality of a situation, if it offends Bill's sensitivities, it's evil and must be attacked.
His browbeating of the teens for making a choice as to who they want to be around is indicative of just what the leftists bring to the table. O'Reilley is a perfect example of what America is when those "who know what's best for us" make the rules.
Label me as you wish, but these kids made a choice that caused no one any physical harm. They will be reviled and assaulted for making what many see as a blunder in judgement, but as long as there are afro-exclusive clubs, social gatherings, political action comities, and the whitey is bad standard, then I'll stand behind these kids and their decision until the end and Bill can kiss my WHITE ass.
Regardless of what the elitist want us to believe, it's not evil to choose to be amongst those who you understand and have common interests with. Just don't get caught exercising your right of free assembly or you will suffer the onslaught of Bill and his "We know what best for you you evil little bastards!" minions.

O'Reilly is not welcome in my living room any more. I emailed him on both the nights he featured this controversy. He was into almost maniacal ranting, and his guests were not offered enough time to speak. One who had an opposing viewpoint was obviously cowed and disgusted and just laid low till the segment mercifully ended.
My sore spot is O'Reilly's subtle and sometimes not-so-subtle threats to use the power of his bully pulpit to bring down those who don't agree with him or who won't appear on his show at his demand. This doesn't sit well with me at all.
I don't blame the Governor for not groveling before Bill's threats and smears by showing up in person. I wouldn't either. Given Bill's ever-increasing jihads, anyone involved would be a fool to participate in a show with him.

The school and more particularly the students chose to have two different proms. I didn't see Sonny Perdue standing on the steps daring the National Guard to integrate the dance... I havent heard anyone including O'Reilly say that he should. All O'Reilly said is that Perdue was being a coward for not speaking out against a stupid, if not outright racist decision.

Why not the County manager? Why not the Democrat Senator?
What do the Democrat State Senators think?
Isn't it up to the kids to explain himself?
O'Reilly has gone on record against "wetbacks" and thinks that all black young men rob "hub caps", so the finger he points is dirty.
To: Dave S
So by your reasoning then, all these black kids that have been having all black proms, graduations, student unions, etc. for untold number of years are black trash. Or do you also subscribe to the bigoted double standard that says anybody but whites can have their private functions....even at taxpayer expense?

So, your saying that I am white trash if I do not have a multi-ethnic group at any party that I have??

All O'Reilly said is that Perdue was being a coward for not speaking out against a stupid, if not outright racist decision.Of course, he refuses to challenge the Governor of West Virginia over that state's US Senator or other inanities...
Is Perdue an idiot? Arguably. Should he have said something about the separate proms? Perhaps. Is he wrong for not doing so? Please. Grow up.
What Perdue should be doing is working on getting the state a damn budget -- he pi$$ed off the time of the Legislature playing patty cake over the damn flag when that was supposed to be going on over the past two months. Coming up with a state budget is far more important than farting around giving an opinion on idiots in a prom.
Of course, Bill O'Reilly is too damn concerned about that prom to find out about the budget problems in Georgia thanks to Perdue and the Legislature. And that sort of inane behavior makes O'Reilly look like a moron, and all the "Talking Points" in the world can't change that.
