Halle Berry says she thinks she's 'ugly'

Halle Berry solidified her place as one of the world's sexiest women with her role as Bond girl Jinx in "Die Another Day."
But the Oscar-winning actress (Monster's Ball) says she still doesn't see herself as a beautiful star.
"To be totally honest, most of the time I think I'm ugly," she told the German magazine Journal fur die Frau. "I see myself without makeup every morning and that's why I don't have illusions anymore. I certainly don't feel like a big star."
Berry added that being black still hinders her progress in Hollywood.
"For many film studios and directors skin color remains a problem. They don't believe that the audience will accept a black actor in the main role. These narrow-minded people underestimate the public and prevent advancement in the industry."
Berry's next film will be "X-2," the sequel to "X-Men" slated for a May 2 release.

I would agree with you. I think for all the things said, she's seeing things that no other person sees. I feel sorry for her. I never want to be a celebrity. It could get very lonely. She only trusts her mom with her business I am sure.

She was pretty in high school, but classmates.com removed the really bad pic they used to have of her.
Pretty before she had the nose job, but this is a good pic. The really awful one...well this might have been her 2nd nose job...

Ms.Berry does not seem to understand that in the bigger picture it aint about you . I dont look the same as I did yesterday either .
I suggest stepping outside of yourself Ms. Berry . Find something in your core bigger than you physically are . That victim hood thing has only so many legs to run on .

I'll trade with her, (In a man's form of course)

She is lovely. But she doesn't look like a negro."Negro" covers as wide a range of physical characteristics as "Causasian" does. She does not have exaggerated black features, but she does appear black to me.
Her playing the race-card does not reflect well on her at all, however.

#64 she looks pretty. I believe why I find her ugly now is because inside she is an ugly person and this comes through on the outside.

"since under Jim Crow any drop of black blood made you black period."
i think the law was if you were 1/64 black you were considered a negro.

I see what you are saying. If I had her money then I'd be able to tell the people I work with, STICK IT IN YOUR EYE. There are bigger problems in life.

There's more to life than being physically attractive. Most of the people in this world aren't so photogenic, telegenic, moviegenic, or any other -genic. Most of us are (merely) average-looking, or maybe not even that. Halle has (very) good looks, and it's obviously gotten her far in life. She hasn't had to understand that, for mere mortals, a person's inner beauty is far more important, since looks eventually fade. What's really important is the person and the effect s/he has on those around.
My advice for Halle: Who are you? Not what you DO, but WHO ARE YOU? What kind of person do you want to be? What do you want your life to mean? You only get one shot, so step back and answer those questions, then decide what you want to do with your life.
In a sense I feel sorry for these people. In their line of work, for some reason they don't wind up with the close family and friend structures we form. Don't ask me why. I have a job, indeed a career, but I also have friends outside of that, friends who will probably be friends for life. I have family who are very close. Maybe it's because I'm neither rich nor famous, but IMHO all you can do is do the best you can to lead a good life, preferably with people who love you. I guess a lot of people in Hollywood just don't understand that.
