All Million Mom March members and supporters who want to show America that Florida and others are united against gun violence and for kids, and oppose the extremists who run the NRA are cordially invited to join us at the Orlando Convention Center on April 26th. The convention center is the site of the National Rifle Association's annual convention where Jeb Bush will be the Keynote Speaker on Saturday night.
The kick-off of the public demonstration will begin at 9:00 a.m. with the gathering of the March participants at the Orlando Convention satellite parking garage which is located at our official site located at Canadian Court and International Drive. This is also the official bus drop off location and gathering area for the one-quarter mile MARCH to the convention center. The demonstration will continue at 10:30 a.m. at the Orlando Convention Center from 10:30 a.m. until approximately 2:00 p.m.
A special survivor/victim sanctuary is planned for the event site. This sanctuary will provide participants with an opportunity to honor and remember those lost to gun violence. Memorials from chapters from around the country are now being made for this sanctuary. Please contact your local chapter for details or see the event contact info below for more information.
The MMM Florida State Council is sponsoring this rally for the purpose of exposing the extremist NRA agenda and showing our support for sensible gun laws. The NRA opposes the ban on assault weapons. We must enforce, renew and strengthen the federal assault weapon ban that is due to expire in 2004. We must keep weapons of war, like Uzis and AK-47s, out of our neighborhoods.
Shame on Florida! Florida has received a D+ rating by the Million Mom March for their failure to enact even the most basic laws to protect our children. We will be calling upon Jeb Bush and Florida legislators to enact common sense gun laws that protect the lives of our children.

They expected a turn out of 500, newspaper reported 300 , grandson counted 127, I counted 128 at the MMM protest. But, they were in the elite media of the Kansas City "Red" Star, front page.
They say a 18, 21 or 24 old is a child when adding up deaths by guns. Then demand that all trigger pulls be set so high a child could not pull the trigger! There are some strong 21 year olds out there, how stupid.
Grandson and I walked across the square and joined in the Freeping. Protesting the protesters, with a good bunch of people.
Freeping is good for the soul, try it you will like it!!!

We're taking care of both my 78-yo mom and my wife's 92-yo grandmother, and after living here in Smallville for almost 30 years, they're pretty well rooted in place. Add to that our 1.5 & 5-yo kids and a dash of the down economy, and things are too tight to even consider much travel.
You talk about the "sandwich generation"? Well, we're right there between two slices of white-bread!
